MSU

Good game and solid win. I don't care how bad MSU is, Weber desperately needed a victory. Get some confidence and start realizing that you can survive and even more than that be good. What kept MSU in the game were the 17 Wildcat TOs. Gotta cut those down. Worse was the poor FT shooting. Our guards need to become reliable at the line. Hayden just needs to keep shooting, but he has to hit his freebies. I know he was 1-8 from the floor, but it was good to see he hit a shot. Something to build on.

I know he ended up having 4 TOs last night, but it is great to see Hill finding his role on this team too. He isn't the greatest at dribbling, but that is to be understood. He has been a 4 and is becoming a 3. In Rahe's offense, 3's are like guards. He is now being forced to take on that role and I feel he is doing fairly well.

Two additional things I really want to point out. First, defensively this team is really starting to get into a groove. Really worried about offensive consistency, but I feel Richardson is an answer to that. He has such a tremendous upside. I love that he is going to get a lot of mins. Second, rebounding!! With Hajek, Bolomboy, and Hill starting, there is no reason why this team cannot out rebound everyone they face. No one else in the Big Sky has a starting lineup like that. Weber should have been doing this all season. Totally frustrating!! Add Richardson at the 2, YIKES!! That is a tall lineup.

Holy crap! Did you just say something positive about Hill? Get in your bunkers folks, the end of the world is here!

Had to stop watching half way through. Couldn't stand the poor stream any longer. But one thing I'm sure of, Golden should never see the floor.

With exception to Bamforth/Hughey I don't know that we've had a jc pan out whatsoever
Session
Noble
Zaid
Bradford
Royce Williams
Coston
Golden

Then you add the runoff's of
Wheelwright
Fields
Brown
Fuller

Guys on the roster that haven't really lived up to potential or hype, there are an awful lot of recruiting misses

Whatsoever is the wrong word, but obviously the JC dynamic has changed the last 5-6 years, and Rahe hasn't been successful with it in that time period.

I know...right? Miracles happen.

To be honest, I was fairly upset when Fuller and Wheels left. I also think Brown could have really helped the Cats. From what I heard Brown left on his own terms. But, I also feel he was counselled out. I don't think it was the best option, but it is what it is. Wheels didn't want to compete and didn't like hearing that he wasn't going to be the starting PG, and probably would be backing up Senglin. I think that was definitely premature by the coaches, but it was a coaches move that was suppose to get him to take his game to the next level. Didn't work. Fuller, since he is sitting out now, wasn't granted a release from the program and is losing a year of eligibility for going to Dixie. Bad decision on his part. I know he could have really helped out this season and really wish he would have stayed, but there is a definite reason he left. Why?? He could shoot, rebound, and dribble...actually play the 3 without having to be molded into being a 3. COACH MISSED BADLY on FULLER.

As for JCs...I personally think it is the style of play not the player. Weber were recruiting blue collar guys who were fundamentally sound and could shoot. Not the quickest, but sound players. Rahe has been swinging for the fences with his JC guys instead of finding the right fits. Dusty Baker, to me, looks like a guy who is a Rahe type and will fit his system; ie a basketball player.

I sure don't call Golden and Coston swinging for the fences. More like settling. If I could make a trade right now, I would take Brown and Fuller back in a heart beat.

You are right. Dusty does appear to be a hard nosed defender who can shoot when needed. He is a willing passer with a positive assist to turn over ratio. He is not a flashy player or a high flier. He is just fundamentally sound. If we bring him in, it will be to replace someone who is not any of those things. :twocents:

I get a kick how you girls remember Fuller..... He is and was a stiff, but we act like he transferred to Kentucky!

The best way to get in the Weber State HOF is to get told that the program is better off without you! Then the fans say you were the best player ever!
I think we are better off without him! We need players not stiffs!
