Mt. Rushmore of UNC football

I saw this on bobcatnation and thought it would be fun to do here. What four players/coaches would you put on the UNC football version of Mt. Rushmore?

1. Joe Glenn - enough said really.

2. Corte Mcguffy - Our only post season MVP (former Harlen Hill winner)

3. Andre Wilson - One of my favorite players to watch. Also is UNC All- Time leading rusher.

4. Vince Jackson - Probably the single greatest athlete to ever put on a Bears uniform.

Honorable mention would go to Vic Nottingham. I know he's not a former coach or football player but UNC wouldn't be much without Vic.

That looks good. My problem is that my knowledge of UNC football only dates back to 1990. We would need a few of the old timers to help us out as well.

You would have to think of an Aaron Smith or Greg Tucker on defense. Frank Wainright or Bill Kenney would also be other offensive players to consider.

I would toss an honorable mention to Dalton too, we had a lot of good years under him.

Don't worry, Ursa has a golden statue of O.Kay Dalton at his place he worships everyday. I think he shares it with Bears2003. Get together with those guys and you can borrow it.

David Stalls owns two Super Bowl Rings, and may have been the first Bear to be drafted.

Bill Kenney made the Pro-Bowl as a Quarterback, and beat John Elway like his red headed stepchild for several years as the Kansas City QB.

The Dalton statue is on loan right now but if the Mt. Rushmore committee wanted to use it as a model, I'm sure something can be set up.

I'm as big a fan of Bears in the pros as the next guy, but Bill Kenney and John Elway in the same sentence - come on Jars. :!:

I can use Bill Kenney in the same sentence as John Elway. That Bill Kenney, he's no John Elway.

So can I, and I did already.

Yes he was no Elway, but he did outperform him in almost every head to head meeting in that time period.

Well then Jars, I'm putting in a vote for Allen Winslow. Never did much in the pro's. But he went. I remember him putting on a pretty respectable showing against CSU a long time ago.

Bill Kenny did make the the pro bowl. did Winslow? I don't think jars was comparing Kenney's career to Elways. We all know that their careers are not comparable. What he is saying is that the games thay played head to head Kenney come out on top. Not bad for a guy recruited as a tight end. I do not know this as a fact but I would be willing to bet that Kenney was the first pro bowler out of U.N.C.

I was just putting in a vote for Winslow.

Al was brought in as a D-back. And yes, Kenney came and started at tight end. His first games at QB in '76 he still wore #89.

Winslow led the mighty Rocky Mountain Lobos to a 8-1-1 record as a senior in high school. In fact, Nick Hager was a Lobo and didn't do too bad of a job for the Bears either. Every now and then you gotta miss the Jackson Field days. At least we filled the stands...occasionally.
