Musing after game 2 of the west coast swing.

I was disappointed during the final seconds of the loss to Oregon State. They battled hard and took the lead in the 2nd half but collapsed in the end. I was sad and right before I turned the TV off I noticed one of the girls that was courtside (middle school age) wearing a PAC-10 t-shirt. I think she was a ball girl or helped sweep the floor.

That's when I realized that UNC just went toe to toe with a team from the PAC-10, a Top 20 team and beat a Mountain West team in the past few weeks. What a step forward for the program. When I was in school (early 90's) we could not compete at the D-II level and I could have never imagined us playing CSU let alone beating them. Our facilities are really nice but the gym we play in is about the same size as my high school gym (I went to a big school). It amazes me that we are not only playing against PAC-10 teams but we are competing and making them work for every point they get. It took 'till the second half to realize that we were not going to beat Gonzaga on the road and were in it 'till about 2 minutes left at Oregon State.

Well done lads. Go Bears!

Give the Big Sky hell in conference play.

Things are on the upswing which is great. The Oregon State game was disapointing because it was very winnable it's too bad they couldn't hold on for 5 minutes and get the win. But one thing that really stood out to me is how much smaller we are than Oregon State and Gonzaga. It's just hard to find big men in college basketball that's for sure.

Speaking of which I wonder if Archebeque is coming back this season? Nothing has been said at all other than he had a concussion.

I guess worst case scenario he misses this year but he should be able to get a medical redshirt and return next year. I only think he played in 2 or 3 games so far.

Do any of you Greeley people know about the status of Archebeque? I think he would really help us working inside along with Banks.
