Sam Mustari, the Greeley Tribune's dinosaur of a reporter, wrote a glowing article about Earnest Collins. This is what I meant a few weeks back when I agreed that Collins faces 0 scrutiny from the media, despite his record.

He also tried to call out several of the posters on our message board, and specifically named a few: "Translated, those hiding behind handles like Beardown, BearsAlum, beardevil39 and BigBearFan76 — just to name a few — don’t offer opinions that carry much weight."

I don't really understand the rambling article, as it tries to cover various angles. Basically he kisses Collins' ass, and then talks about previous coaches at UNC. I put a lot more stock in the message board posters than I do in Mustari. He chooses to toss softball questions week in and week out and write the same old stories he always has. He would rather be friends with the coaches. I don't always agree with Beardown, but he is one of the more thoughtful posters on here, and is rarely negative.

As always, I will be rooting for our Bears today. I wish Collins were getting tougher questions, and Mustari should look in the mirror before taking shots at the message board posters.
 
He called out posters on an online forum? Sweet merciful crap that's hilarious. With a record of 17-48, Collins has no legs to stand on and no reason for anyone to defend him. Let's have a winning season and then we can get all fuzzy about him. Also just watched Collin's Papa John's commercial thing. Good ploy by Papa John's, luckily they won't have to do the the "Bears win and get a pizza 50% off" all that often.
 
It's a perfect fit... Half ass reporter / half ass head coach. Mustari needs to be on the same bus out of town as Collins.
 
Mustari is a joke of a reporter, calling him a half ass reporter is much too kind. His articles are generally unreadable, often factually incorrect and always spun as if UNC is paying his salary.
 
I am glad I'm getting some consensus here.

As a former journalist, it is borderline irresponsible to see the GT editorial staff continue to employ Mustari. Matt Schuman was 10 times the reporter Mustari is. I still remember the former clown of a Bears baseball coach ducking an interview from Matt, and the SID sheepishly telling us he was unavailable. I was a student reporter for the Mirror WAAYY back, and saw Matt shake it off and press on. He then synthesized the game and still wrote an unbiased/great report. The coach declined to be interviewed because he knew Matt was gonna have some tough questions. The coaches don't get toughies anymore; it's unfortunate.

Enjoy your cushy job, Dinasaur Mustari. I'd like to hear why we only beat a 4 win DII team in tomorrow's paper. Instead, I'll read a slurp job about how Boyer called a great game and our defense is a game or two away....Unbelievable.

Mustari is probably one of the worst reporters in the state of Colorado. No wonder why he works at the tribune. Collins probably has him on payroll..

I love the opening state. Collins Can Read.. well he may be able to read but he sure as hell can't read when its time to give up coaching, resign at UNC, and move on.

Mustari should do the same, according to his twitter he is an award wining journalist. Good one, who's ass did you kiss to give you that?

Just when I thought I've seen it all with Mustari. Hahahahahah and Collins. Gosh this is a joke I can't believe I read this article.
