My oppinion of Marketing

YIKES!! We need to jump on this marketing dept. thing and make them dooshes do their jobs. These people up there sitting on their bums in the stadium need to do something. Yeah this year is shot on doing something with marketing, but if we do something this year, they can work on doing it better for next year.
Are there any thoughts on this little predicament we're in and can we help them get motivated to do their job? What they should be doing.
 
Maybe Student Leaders should do their jobs also... There should, at very least, be 400 students at every game.
 
How many have been coming??? 25-50, hells its a start!!! Yes, I do agree it is a Joke... However, the biggest joke is student leadership and their advisors thats the joke!!
 
Student groups need to quit scheduling other events on the night/day of a game!! Can't the organization look at the schedule and pick a different time?!?!
 
Here is the problem at look ing at the calander. When I was in student leadership, we would get together and plan our activites a month before school started. Often times before we could get a hold of the Basketball programs. I worked in the office that out together the 5$ planner that some WSU students buy every year. We would try to get those ready about a month before the Spring semester ended. When we would call the athetic program they would ho and hum about getting us all of the teams scheduals. We would often times have to call the coaches directly. And that was only for the Fall sports, most of the Spring sports have not finished there scheduals yet, because most of those teams are still playing. Student leadership has suffered the last year, Pete was great, he was all over trying to get folks to different stuff. I do not know if that was because of his involovement in the purple pak the year before, or what.
 
The school administration is aware of the problem. I know that there have been recent meetings between the AD, his boss(Norm Tarbox), and his boss(Dr. Milner). They are aware of the problem, but I do not know the outcome of those meetings or what was discussed in detail. If and when I get the info, I will pass it along.

Since nothing was done this year why will next year be different? An entire year went by.

Nothing gets me fired up at WSU more than the crappy assed marketing dept. It makes me so d*** mad to think how Kim is just sitting on his big fat bum and doing nothing to collect his paycheck. FIRE KIM, FIRE BRAD LARSEN, get rid of ALL the dead weight up there and bring in some young guys with new ideas and with the energy to get them done.
When it comes to our marketing dept. all i can think of now is "Naughty Words"
 
Our coaches, and student athletes deserve better than what they are getting out of our marketing dept. Our University deserves better!! Our Coaches can't be expected to run their teams and do all of the marketing for them as well. Our marketing is a joke and I'm sick of it! You can talk with Kim until you are blue in the face and it does no good, this guy is a clown and should be canned.

What is wrong with Brad Larsen...other than being an Aggie?
 
Have you noticed on the Wsusports.com website how every sport is regularly updated except for mens basketball and football? Yeah those two sports are Brad's job. I have heard from several asst. coaches and others who are in the athletic dept. that Brad is just dead weight and doesn't do anything.
 
Hey, I've totally just been like an innocent bystander for far to long. I'm new to this forum and to Weber State, I'm from Virginia. Since I've been here, I've truly learned what laziness is.

I really don't want to hurt anyones feelings, but I can't take it anymore. I was here last spring and watched Weber win the conference tournament and go on to the NCAA's, and I became instantly addicted to Weber Basketball! I was so proud to tell my friends that I go to Weber State, but this year things are so different. Nobody goes to the games, if the community didn't support, I thought at "VERY" least the students would, but nobody is at the games. There are far more old people (I am thankful that they are there) than students.

Isn't the PURPLE PAK suppose to get students to go to the games?? Who is in charge of that organization? I know some of the student body officers and I'm definitely not impressed. I doubt they could figure out how to take a crap, even if instructions were written on the wall above the toliet. So somebody else has got to do the work. Naturally I thought the Purple Pak would be active on campus getting students to the games. Isn't that the only reason why they exist in the first place? Its getting embarrashing for a student to go to the games because there are only like 20 people there chanting cheers and we look like Morons!

Come on, will people stop pointing fingers and actually do something? I like Utah, maybe I will transfer to a school that actually supports their teams and is proud of their school.

Yes there is alot of finger pointing going on, but alot of the people on here have also been trying to help solve the problems for years.

Hey don't leave Weber because of the impotence of the student leaders. Maybe you should get involved and run for office, or better yet join the Purple Pak. Also, just because other students don't want to take advantage of the college experience, doesn't mean that you can't. There may only be 20 fans at the games, but at least we are there, just one more fan makes us that much louder, invite all your friends and classmates to the games this week. Oh by the way... OPINION..

You can whine and pregnant dog all you want to about how the purple pak doesn't do their job, but nobody cares about the organization. If people gave a flyin eph about the purple pak, we'd have students that want to be actively involved, wanting to help out. But there is NO ONE!! When you find somebody who wants to help who is actually a member of the organization, tell me!

we need the purple pak pres and a few others to sell the shirts and promote the game tomorrow. i can help too. hey bigpapaskills lets do this!
