Nathan Sobey official visit

One weird thing about this forum is how members get infatuated with players who end up being stiffs! Weber State is on the way up and Rahe has done a great job improving our talent level. We dodged a bullet not getting Sobey. He did nothing at Wyoming and would've taken up room on our bench in Ogden!

if we are going to make noise in March, we have to recruit the best. I like the quality of players coming to Weber...... we have to continue to raise the bar!

Did nothing at Wyoming? He started every game last season and averaged almost 10 pts a game in a conference that's much better than the Big Sky. He would have been all-conference playing here.

Numbers lie...... Shooting 42% from the field and 63% from the FT. He did average 30 minutes a game. The question is who would you of sat at Weber ?

It is really hard to tell you guys. He would have played in a better system at Weber with better coaching. He would have played against weaker competition in the Big Sky. I have also heard that smelling the cow turd smell of Laramie can effect your shot. Would Senglin/Gittens have still come to Weber if we had Sobey? Would we have even recruited them that hard if we knew we had a good combo guard in Sobey? There are way too many factors to say things would have been better or worse at Weber. He had a decent two years at Wyoming and we are in a great position for the future.

Sobey ended up doing fairly well for the Pokes. Good for him. Why exactly are we talking about him now? He chose UW over Weber because he was assured playing time. At this point, who cares? He's chose UW two years ago and has graduated. Weber never played the Pokes while he was there. And he didn't affect the Cats one way or the other.

Weber has survived without Nate Sobey, and in fact, the Cats, in the past two seasons have done extremely well even if he went to Wyoming. Weber won 30 games when he was a Jr. in Laramie, and went to the NCAA's this year when he was a Sr. End of story...

Agreed. It's just WeberSki's alter ego being butt hurt that Sobey chose someone else. But I just had to respond to the ludicrous suggestion that Sobey would have rode the pine here.
