More to it than that, of course. The whole team voted to react to the U of M Kaimen the same way. That paper's been a rag since I went there and saw it delight in exposing minor character flaws in people they didn't particularly like at the moment. They see themselves as Berkley's younger sister in a state colored bright red.

Pretty damning statements, but it leaves you to wonder what the "at least four other plays" are. A team always has to beat the refs because the next time it'll be to their disadvantage.
 
I am glad that the Big Sky Conference is finally trying to do something about the quality of officiating.
In my opinion the quality of officiating in the BSC leaves a lot to be desired. I didn't see the calls in question between Montana and EWU but I have seen my share of questionable calls and non calls.
Your would think that at this level the officials would be a little more skilled and consistent.

Who cares about your tacky coach. Must be some of that cockiness. And, I hope we get a fair game that doesn't favor the sweet heart of the Conference. Besides you went to the UCD game so take a hike!
 
Not much needs to be said heading into the Montana game. This will test the character of this Hornets squad. It will be interesting to see how this team responds to their game last week and show us if they truly are fighters. The team will be overwhelmed and outcoached this week as they face one of the best FCS teams in the nation. I want to see the team be aggressive and to not back down against an opponent of this caliber. With that said the Hornets need to prove to the fan base that they have not and will not give up on the season. This is a character game that will show what this team is made of.

No score prediction from me on this one. Montana is consistent on both sides of the ball and they have some playmakers. They will need to keep them from having any big returns as they failed to do against WSU. UM has some guys that can take it to the house off of a kick off or punt. I am hoping that the coverage teams will show much improvement from a week ago.

On offense I am wondering who will start at QB. Whoever it is needs to spark this offense and get something going as they head into the tail end of the season.

On defense the defensive line needs to do their best to control the line of scrimmage and keep the UM run game to a minimum. I feel they are capable of this. I am hoping the DB’s aren’t sitting in a pussified zone all game. The DC needs to let the dogs loose and blitz like crazy as this team has absolutely nothing to lose going into this game.

I hope someone will be able to post a solid and accurate game review this week. I’ll be taking a licensure exam all weekend and will likely miss most and probably all of the game.

I take offense to being outcoached NOBODY and I mean NOBODY outcoaches me. We will take care of business but even if we don't you can be assured that I will collect my paycheck.

It depends... I usually try to get as close to the middle of the action as I can, but that's tough to do with a truck when space is limited. I can post on here where I'm at if anyone wants to hang out.

If anyone wants to stop by Hornuts and my tailgate they are welcome, we typically tailgate close to the entrance to Hornet Stadium next to the parking garage. Look for a green shade tent and three balding white guys drinking and BBQing. There's usually five of us, but we've been reduced to three for tomorrows game.

Stop by for a beer.
 
So judging by the box score, the D couldn’t stop the run at all and the O was able to move the ball through the air. Sadly it looks as though people are losing interest as the attendence was just a hair over 7.5k. Anyone care to elaborate about the details?

It looks like the Hornets put up a fight and showed some heart. Hopefullythis attitude and fight can carry over into next week when NAU comes to town.

You know what, they played well. The momentum killer was the hands to the face call on Lessard negating the touchdown that would have tied it at 21 just before the half. I think that was a BS call (but Montana always gets the calls so what else is new). Also, Montana's D had a hard time containing Dailey. When he went out with his shoulder injury, we became one-dimensional, which totally changed the way we were attacking them.

As for attendance, I thought there at least 8,500 there...the reason i think for the drop was in the student section, I think most are still in shock after what happened on Wednesday. A lot of students went home for the weekend (and can you blame them?).

Regroup and try and beat NAU.
 
You're right, the penalty on the touchdown just before halftime hurt. Several other things come to mind too. The onside kick worked to perfection. Montana is not afraid to try this (and the fake field goal) because they know how to win. The penalty on Avery White (when he went for the back of the legs in the middle of the field with no one else around) hurt, too. The team played well and showed heart and no back down from #2 in the nation. I will never again question Dailey's heart. He took a hit to the head that you could hear in the stands, wobbled to the sidelines, and went back in when the Hornet's got the ball again. He ran hard and was always looking for the extra yard. The shoulder injury may be more of a problem. With only McCowan healthy right now, we get very thin in the backfield. It may be time to look at Badger in the backfield, too. He had over 1,400 yards last year as a running back.

Overall, the team played well. The receivers were catching the ball and Jason made mostly good decisions.

Play like this against NAU and we can win.
 
Anyone know how bad the Dailey injury is? This is a huge loss. And if Badger is redshirting, I would opt to not burn it. No point on burning a redshirt for this season. May as well save it so the guy will still have four FULL years of eligibility.
