NAU accepts CIT Berth

This may be a record for participation in post season play for the BSC. I am looking forward to the day when we can get two into the big dance. We are not that far off.

I feel that the NCAA should put some kind of limit on how many teams can be selected from one league. I think it is rediculous when you are the 5th or 6th place team in your conf. and still get in.

Just my opinion. :punch:

Or the 10/11th team, Big East, and you get into the Big Dance. Honestly, the NCAA should force the Big East to split up and become two conferences. All Big East teams that compete in Football FBS stay and the non-football/FCS schools become another league.

CONGRATS to NAU!! I'm glad that those SRs get another chance to play and that our good friend MT. Jack gets to watch his team. I'm thinking the Lumberjacks will be able to make some noise in the CIT. Gotta love Cameron Jones (he didn't need 15 or 16 FTs a game to score over 20).

This should make 4 Big Sky teams - the top four finishers - with assorted tournament bids this season. Congrats to these four programs.

But why is it that I keep hearing (mostly on egriz.com...*ahem*) that the Big Sky is slightly below the local junior high rec league in talent, facilities, coaching, blah blah blah.

I'm excited. I was hoping for a home game but understand why they were sent on the road (finishing 4th...limited facilities) but a post season bid on the road is better than no bid at all. Will be listening in on internet radio on Tuesday night.

Oldrunner - I agree that it's frustrating when a 10th seed in a conference gets a tourney bid. I'm looking at you, Big East. But money talks and the Big East/ACC/Big 10/etc. have boatloads of money. I believe that if your team cannot finish above .500 overall and above .500 in league than your team doesn't deserve a bid. Gotta wonder whether some of those 6th-10th place teams in these conferences were scheduling road games or competitive middle major teams on the way to their 12-2 non-conference records, though.
