NAU vs MSU- still can't win on the road

Every time that NAU plays on the road I tell myself that this will be the game when they will finally break that awful streak. What's the problem? Why can't the guys win on the road? They don't particularly play bad, they just somehow end up loosing. Is it that we just run into bad luck and our oponent just has their best game of the season against us? All of our 4 losses in conference have been super close, why can't we catch a break? I still trully believe that we are a much better team than what our record shows. I think as of right now NAU is the 3rd best team in the conference (PSU, Weber) althoug the record won't tell you that. I think that this team is better than UNC, MSU, and Montana, but we still lost to all these teams. So the question is, what must we do to finally win on the road? thoughts? discuss...

Maybe our road woes will end next week at SAC St. Let's hope. This WILL be the game, I just know it.

Alleluya the lumberjacks win on the road!!!! the sound of it was starting to get weird. Finally they get a W on the road and it came surprisingly easy. I really feel bad for the Sac st. fans. They are even worse off this season than we are. To have (NAU) the second worse team in the league come into their house and beat them that bad must crush all hopes they might of had for the season. I really feel that the Jacks will go on a winning streak and improve their conferance standing significantly. Idaho st. and Weber st. will be going into Flagstaff overconfident and this is the time for the Jacks to pull a fast one on them. No offense to ISU fans, but I feel like they are way over confident. They're talking about a road sweep of the jacks and Sac st. this week. I just know that the Jacks will be ready to play and if ISU does win in Flag, it won't come easy. Weber st. is also beatable in Flagstaff. They're playing well, but nothing the lumberjacks can't handle specially in the Skydome. This will be a tough home stand, but I feel that the Jacks will pull it off. Here's to staying positive.

Go Jacks!!

Oh and congrats to Laurie Kelly and the lady Jacks for their first road win of the season as well. Keep up the good play.

Awesome to get the first road win.

Things still look a bit grim in the conference standings but all is not lost. Weber State has proven that they can get beat in conference as has Portland State. ISU, MSU, UNC, UM, EWU....all capable teams but consisten, dominant teams - no. WSU and PSU are beginning to separate themselves from the rest of the pack but the other four playoff slots in conference are up for grabs. No one is invincible.

My expectations going into this season were simulataneously optomistic but realistic after the players lost at the end of last season. Non-conference by no means turned out as hoped but I saw steady, incremental improvement as a team. I saw a team that showed determination when physically overmatched by teams with more talent. I saw a team that is 7 points away from a 5-1 conference record. I saw two grueling losses in person on the Montana roadtrip where they were one or two bounces from being on the other side of the final score.

The next 3 games will be telling of the rest of the season to come. Win 2-3 of them and we're at least still in the running for a conference playoff berth. Lose two or three and......well, I'm not going to think like that and will work on staying in the positive like King.

Kudos to the Lady Jacks for showing life as well. I'm hoping to make it to Missoula for their Saturday, February 14th game against the Grizzlies but as usual that depends on money, time, academia and weather permitting.

Will be listening in on Thursday night.

Go Jacks!
