NAU

What the heck happened last night? We only shot 38% from the field and gave up 16 turnovers to NAU's 9 and still won.

Was our defense really on fire or something?

Sounds like Proctor was a beast.

No, NAU is just really not good at all. Any other 'Sky team and we would have lost.

It was a win Beardown- enjoy it !! Tevin Svihovec looks more and more like the missing Bietzel on this team. Go Bears !!
So what did a couple of our players do so bad to get suspended on this road trip ??

We won but it wasn't pretty... What is up with NAU playing in that auxiliry gym? That is a temporary thing right?

Looks like they are still doing renovations to the skydome. From the looks of it, the renovations are mostly to the infrastructure:

"The 268,000 sf multi-purpose stadium will undergo renovations to address code and accessibility issues, including ADA handrails, wheelchair spaces and access to various areas of the Skydome, egress issues, life-safety storage, and electrical, mechanical and water issues."

Permanent, aided by the addition of new seating during Christmas break. Very oddly designed, though, because the seats are a heck of a long ways away from the sidelines.

Troy, yes I agree, judging from TV the stands look to start at least 20 feet from the benches. And a capacity of 1,200 seems way too small to be permanent but what do I know?

Kind of funny to think the NAU AD was going to games at Portland and Sac State and thinking "wow, this gym is quite nice, maybe we can have something similar?"

Yep, NAU is really bad... this game was a lot closer than it should have been for UNC.

On the bright side, it has been fun watching Svihovec and Addo take the next step... both look like they're really going to be excellent players for the next couple years in the Big Sky.

That would be UNC's FORMER AD, BTW...

As for the setup: There is a proposal for renovations of the old fieldhouse on campus there, which would give them a 5k seat arena. The issue is money, especially on the heels of the major renovations they undertook at the Skydome. A good bit of the money for that project came from the Cardinals.

Consider some things here:
final game of 4 game road trip. None of its been easy travel, either, given the snow storm in Montana, and the 3 hour bus rides between airport and Pokey and Flagstaff.

7,000ft altitude

But the biggest issue of the moment, which has been completely overlooked here (surprisingly):
No Elliott Lloyd. No Aaron Hawk-Harris.

If you aren't aware, both are on indefinite suspension. UNC's depth at PG especially has been hurt. Svihovec started at point against NAU, which is the first time he's spent the majority of the game at PG.

Oh yeah good point about Lloyd and that Hawk Harrelson guy... I wonder if we'll find out what they did.

Lloyd has been a pretty big disapointment, perhaps this suspension has to do with him not having his head in the right place... The Hawk guy hasn't done anything, for a JC tranfer you'd expect more although JC guys quite often are disapointing.
