NC game

I’m sure I’ll get heat for this… but I’m not sold on firing Best. If you force that guy to hire REAL defensive Coaches, this team isn’t that far away. Truthfully, after all the bullshit earlier in the season, even the D is improving. If I’m the AD, I’m probably making some calls to other coaches to gauge interest (you never know who wants in), but I’m waiting out these last two games. Flip those two fucked-up games with Drake and SE Louisiana (the most atrocious losses that defied all logic) and this season is still alive.

Idaho State and NAU are just good enough to call them decent. I’d like to see where we are against them before settling on a decision.

I don't *REALLY* want to see Best go, but I just cannot explain why this program has regressed so much. Those two losses are mind-boggling and inexcusable, but I think if we played either of those teams now we'd win 75% of the time.

The sad part is that outside of Nevada, we've been in every game we've lost, including against Montana, Davis, Idaho, and MSU.

Yup. Agreed 100%.

And to describe what I see, this team hasn’t quit and appears to be showing improvement. I’m proud of the heart we’re showing. It’s a small consolation from a really bad season.

These next two games- despite not truly doing anything for us except regaining some pride- are going to be interesting. If we play like yesterday, we will win both. Play like we did against Drake, and we get stomped.

The jury is still out for me.

FWIW, Northern Colorado looked like the worst Big Sky team I’ve ever seen outside of Cal Poly a couple of years back. Woefully terrible.

I have Idaho State a toss up, NAU likely loss. NAU is good this year, ranked 25 this week and game is in Flagstaff.
