NDSU 4/24. Lets go!!

It’s a terrible matchup for Eastern. I’m seeing horrible visions of North Dakota State getting 40 first downs and 50 minutes of possession.

I’m sure Eastern will score a few points, but our defense is probably too soft to go head to head with the Bison.

I’d love to see the defense prove me wrong, but after watching the Idaho game and how tragic the defense look stopping simple zone rushes, I don’t know how they suddenly rise up for this one.

yea LP.

either NDSU smashes and pounds or EWU throws it all over us.

gonna be a jeckyl & hyde game
Full disclosure my uncle lives in Fargo and mom grew up in Oaks so unfortunately follow the Bison much more then I should...its a hateful respect. I have watched three games this year. But I would agree with you not a good team this year. Your QB leaving crushed this team.

In order for us to win it has to be a shootout.

Your QB is not good...and that is being kind. That WR yesterday had his man beat by 10 steps on the final drive and he didn't have the arm to get it to him and the WR had to come back to the ball which allowed the defender to make a easy play on it. Just one example of many I can give.

If we can get you guys to throw 20 or more passes i think EWU wins, but if it is like in Cheney the last time were I was screaming each play from the stands that the Bison was about to run and we couldn't stop them..(run to the left) then we are in for a long day.
Eb3 needs to make himself a multi treat QB...i appreciate him not running all the time, but this is it...game time at least rip off some runs early and make them commit to spying or something!

I like our chances EWU PICKS UP THE WIN AND ADVANCES on the road which I feel like we have played great!!!

EWU hasnt won a road playoff game since 2009? whoa.

granted this isn't true home field. 19,000 fans should be there, every game this year had 9,000. but idiot NCAA only allowing 25%

I think it is also we haven't played a road game since then either....so yes we haven't won on the road or played on the road since 2009...stats...gotta love them :)

Straight from our release : It snaps a string of 17-straight home playoff games at "The Inferno" in Cheney, Wash., not including a pair of title games in Frisco, Texas, to conclude the 2010 and 2018 seasons.

NDSU has playoff record of 38-2, How can EWU possibly win!

Mr. Lake Bison, my daughter was asking me if NDSU would ever make the jump to FBS and I said probably not, although they might like to but they would have find a conference to fit into that would make sence. Second they would need a bigger stadium, minimum of 30,000 otherwise nobody will ever agree to a home and home match up (just ask Idaho). Does that subject ever get real consideration?

I think that attendance number is lower. Idaho is your benchmark. They used to fug their numbers so they would qualify for FBS...but we all know how that worked out for them. So whatever the Kibble dome capacity is its around that number.

Yes NDSU keeps making noise about a FBS move.
AAC had an expansion & their blogger had NDSU on the list.
Mountain west would be the best. Attendance wise at 19,000 (probably get to 21,000 w ingenuity) would put NDSU in middle of MWC.
Play 1 game at Vikings stadium in Minneapolis with 50,000 would help that yearly.

only 1 way to go staying at fcs..... so might as well move up

Idaho was an exception, not the rule. A move to FBS requires a 30k seat facility, but if you can average 30k/per game for the season, you’re ok. (As lakes mentioned above) they could use the Vikings’ stadium for two home games each season, if they draw 50k each contest it helps them average 30k for the season. They’d ultimately face the same challenges Idaho faced during their time in FBS.

Good to see you again Lakes! Wish we could make it over for the game next Saturday, would love to tailgate and enjoy banter with you guys again. EWU and NDSU both down a little, should be a good battle of possession versus quick strike. Sad we won't be represented in the stands!

Man, I hope I’m wrong... but I see a bad outcome for Eastern in this one. I’m hoping North Dakota State is a helluva lot worse than I suspect they are. These physical teams are just kryptonite to us. You can go look at that 2016 game against Youngstown State where Eastern was so much better it was crazy, but they just kept, beating the defense up play after play until they rolled over and died.

yes sir. wish we could have tailgating too. right. now people are partying at houses around fargodome..its so dumb.

other question FBS is 15,000 minimum not 30,000

NDSU lost 2 starters last game, LB kaszcor & LT Grey Zabel. didnt look good and no updates at presser today

We lost some more linebacker depth last for the year after losing our best defensive player to the portal at the LB position to start the year. Had a couple WR's go down and haven't heard status. We have lost three LB's for the season I believe two to injury, and one to the portal. Kind of depleted on D, light in the shorts on the Dline, and have a tendency to get gashed by the run. Long sustained drives are scary to me in this one knowing that the oline for the Bison will be tough. I think we have some horses on O but it is going to be an interesting game for sure. Looking forward to Saturday after I figure out how to tune in on ESPN3.

One of the most problematic recurring issues at Eastern is that anyone who gets hurt may as well be sucked into a black hole. It's like once a kid checks out of a game, he never returns and is cast off into some kind EWU-trainer purgatory. I have no idea why Eastern trainers seem so incapable of preventing and healing injuries, but it's literally an every year problem.

The DE that transferred from UW has- I believe- only played in 4 quarters of football in two years. Each year he went down in game one and then just magically disappeared. Worse yet, it seems like a lot of guys play one game and then seem to enter the FBI witness relocation program. They don't play and it's like their name is not to be uttered. There is almost no conversation about where some of these guys went, only that they obviously aren't at the game. Johnny Edwards, anyone? Sucked into the La Brea tar pit, maybe?
