We lost some more linebacker depth last for the year after losing our best defensive player to the portal at the LB position to start the year. Had a couple WR's go down and haven't heard status. We have lost three LB's for the season I believe two to injury, and one to the portal. Kind of depleted on D, light in the shorts on the Dline, and have a tendency to get gashed by the run. Long sustained drives are scary to me in this one knowing that the oline for the Bison will be tough. I think we have some horses on O but it is going to be an interesting game for sure. Looking forward to Saturday after I figure out how to tune in on ESPN3.
One of the most problematic recurring issues at Eastern is that anyone who gets hurt may as well be sucked into a black hole. It's like once a kid checks out of a game, he never returns and is cast off into some kind EWU-trainer purgatory. I have no idea why Eastern trainers seem so incapable of preventing and healing injuries, but it's literally an every year problem.
The DE that transferred from UW has- I believe- only played in 4 quarters of football in two years. Each year he went down in game one and then just magically disappeared. Worse yet, it seems like a lot of guys play one game and then seem to enter the FBI witness relocation program. They don't play and it's like their name is not to be uttered. There is almost no conversation about where some of these guys went, only that they obviously aren't at the game. Johnny Edwards, anyone? Sucked into the La Brea tar pit, maybe?
