Georgia Hwy 41?
Still worried if the D can get off the field in this one. It hasn’t gone so well the last times we’ve played these guys and they just went 4WD right over our defense. If we can’t get a few 3-and-outs to end some possessions and keep some semblance of clock control, I fear this one is ugly.
I'm with you Dopa. This team can't stop the run, especially when the QB is the primary ball carrier. Without 3 TO's, I have NDSU as a 2 TD favorite at home. Expect EB3 to play well and not throw into double coverage ala the Natty a couple years ago. If Shoemaker can keep the rhythm without high risk redzone nonsense, the Eags will move the ball. Glad to see Limu-Jones on the 2 deep, thought he was hurt. If he and Tamarick have big days, Eags have a shot. Expect Criner, Mitchell and Kedrick to have good games on defense but they can't do it alone. Could use a dose of big plays and TO's for sure.
The Big Chicken is on Hwy 41 and Roswell Road in Marietta, GA. Good memory Dopa.
Thank goodness...was worried about Limu and RobersonEagerEagle said:Our 2-deeps are up. Looks like Limu and Roberson are listed as good to go. A little light at LB this week.

I am feeling optimistic about this game, but it all comes down to who shows up. Like we have seen some guys will be here one week and then gone the next.
If our WR are all there believe we have a better then average chance. If some of our receivers are MIA then could be trouble.
Either way GO EAGS!

Receivers are good to go, oh yea the Spring 2021 Walter Payton Award winner EB3 won’t let the EAGS down!

It's hard to forget Georgia 41 because it was immortalized in Ramblin' Man by the Allman Brothers. Outside of Route 66 (which doesn't even exist in the same mold as it did back in the day), it's probably the most famous highway in the country.
I feel a little more optimistic about tomorrow than I did a week ago. I still think we're only gonna get as far as our offense can carry us, because I have no faith at all in our D. Hopefully, North Dakota State gets a bad case of fumbleitis, because I'd probably put the over/under on 3 punts for them all game long. Knowing that they love to play murderball and just go on long drives, that likely means we're gonna cede about 40+ minutes of possession.

QBU??? Seriously? NDSU doesn't win a gazillion Natty's without decent QB play but this is pushing the edge of credulity. I don't know how motivating it is to have a talented QB play a season and then bolt the team. Time will tell the tale on Lance, many gifted athlete's fail for a multitude of reasons, not sure it's as easy to know why they succeed. I've no skin in the game, so willing to watch the NFL geniuses make poor choices and behave like the egomaniacs many of them are.lakesbison said:you better hope the NDSU players dont watch THIS NDSU QB DOCUMENTARY that aired tonight... cuz they will run thru a brick wall after it.. wow wow

Oh I agree on needing more big men...NO DOUGHT ABOUT IT, but recruiting emphasis is Offense....LDopaPDX said:I see it a little differently. I'm not that concerned about the offense. After NDSU's second TD to make it 20-14 (and yeah, a missed XP in a game like this is completely unacceptable), it became readily apparent that Eastern had no answers on defense. We kinda stayed in the game when NDSU tried to establish an air attack, but the second they realized they didn't need to do that to win, it became death by a thousand cuts.
It feels to me like the whole team became demoralized when they came to the realization the defense was nowhere near good enough or physical enough to hang in the game. The tough thing is we all knew this was the likely outcome and seeing it play out in front of your eyes with no ability to alter the course was hard. We can criticize the Xs and Os, but really what it all stems from is not being big enough, strong enough, or tough enough to compete against a team committed to challenging us in a physical way.
I put in a thread yesterday that we have a unique opportunity in the new one year and done transfer World to completely retool for the Fall. We need big strong guys in the defensive front 7. Even if it means giving up a bit of speed in some positions, we must get more physical.
