NDSU 4/24. Lets go!!

Obzerver's GA cousin... plus I'm in the mood for fried chicken.

Was shocked to see EWU a 6 point dog, but even more surprised to see that EWU is predicted to win by the Athletic.

I am feeling optimistic about this game, but it all comes down to who shows up. Like we have seen some guys will be here one week and then gone the next.
If our WR are all there believe we have a better then average chance. If some of our receivers are MIA then could be trouble.
Either way GO EAGS!

Georgia Hwy 41?

Still worried if the D can get off the field in this one. It hasn’t gone so well the last times we’ve played these guys and they just went 4WD right over our defense. If we can’t get a few 3-and-outs to end some possessions and keep some semblance of clock control, I fear this one is ugly.

NDSU -7. doh k. i was thinking -3

NDSU is getting alot of heat this week after losing to a rival. i would hope that fires them up

I'm with you Dopa. This team can't stop the run, especially when the QB is the primary ball carrier. Without 3 TO's, I have NDSU as a 2 TD favorite at home. Expect EB3 to play well and not throw into double coverage ala the Natty a couple years ago. If Shoemaker can keep the rhythm without high risk redzone nonsense, the Eags will move the ball. Glad to see Limu-Jones on the 2 deep, thought he was hurt. If he and Tamarick have big days, Eags have a shot. Expect Criner, Mitchell and Kedrick to have good games on defense but they can't do it alone. Could use a dose of big plays and TO's for sure.

The Big Chicken is on Hwy 41 and Roswell Road in Marietta, GA. Good memory Dopa. ;)

Our 2-deeps are up. Looks like Limu and Roberson are listed as good to go. A little light at LB this week.
Thank goodness...was worried about Limu and Roberson

Receivers are good to go, oh yea the Spring 2021 Walter Payton Award winner EB3 won’t let the EAGS down!

as a bison fan, I hope ndsu can sack him a few times and get pressure. I know he'll scramble, but our discipline & contain will be key part of this game.

It's hard to forget Georgia 41 because it was immortalized in Ramblin' Man by the Allman Brothers. Outside of Route 66 (which doesn't even exist in the same mold as it did back in the day), it's probably the most famous highway in the country.

I feel a little more optimistic about tomorrow than I did a week ago. I still think we're only gonna get as far as our offense can carry us, because I have no faith at all in our D. Hopefully, North Dakota State gets a bad case of fumbleitis, because I'd probably put the over/under on 3 punts for them all game long. Knowing that they love to play murderball and just go on long drives, that likely means we're gonna cede about 40+ minutes of possession.

EWU made it to Fargo 24 hours from now someone gonna be happy.

our OC has been sooo conservative lately i cant even envisioning him more conservative. but he will.

gonna be ugly

NDSU 23 Ewu 21

41 is still functional from Green Bay to Miami. I've driven most of it in stretches from Nashville, TN to Naples, FL saved me from a 100 mile Bonaroo backup on Interstate 24 one time in the 2000's, although I did have to traverse a mountain goat trail to escape those hippee's ;-) I know the goats were surprised to see me and my old LS400 going through their territory.

The Eag's will show up and EB3, Criner, Mitchell, etc will remember the Natty game and do all they can to change the outcome. Looking forward to watching today with some pork chops and sides.

Tennis got cancelled due to rain :-( so am jonesing for some contact. www.altatennis.org is the largest tennis association in the world with about 85,000 participants annually and men's, women's and mixed teams in most larger subdivisions. It's a true neighborhood event where people come to watch, cheer and be neighborly. Only in the south.

QBU??? Seriously? NDSU doesn't win a gazillion Natty's without decent QB play but this is pushing the edge of credulity. I don't know how motivating it is to have a talented QB play a season and then bolt the team. Time will tell the tale on Lance, many gifted athlete's fail for a multitude of reasons, not sure it's as easy to know why they succeed. I've no skin in the game, so willing to watch the NFL geniuses make poor choices and behave like the egomaniacs many of them are.

Looks like Eastern’s OC got gun shy. Whoever our OC is needs to learn the game and learn how to use your playmakers regularly! This was the FCS CHAMPIONSHIP for goodness sake, this is ndsu without Trey Lance, attack!

The moment EWU missed that extra point the game changed. Congrats Bison!

Appreciate all the Eags players and coaches did to make it a very enjoyable season. Can't imagine all they had to go through to play. Can't wait till the fall as it can't come any sooner.

A couple of things that popped out at me from yesterday's game. 1st was their team speed. EB3 is fast and I don't think he has gotten any slower, but he was getting tracked down pretty easily on his scrambles.

The missed extra point is a punch to the gut especially in the playoffs. EWU history will tell you that..2004 vs. Sam Houston at home - First Quarter EWU—Slind 1 run (kick failed), 3:47 -sadly that was the game as Sam Houston scored on the last play of the game.
There is zero margin for error in playoff games....least of all versus NDSU.

There was no secret what EWU had to do I mentioned it earlier...you had to make them through the ball 20 or more times...Not even close...only 11 attempts by NDSU for a total of 50...that's right ONLY 50 yards! That is CRAZY!

Yes we only ran the ball 2 times besides EB3 scrambles (don't count for me) in the second half but we barely had the ball. To their credit they found our weakness on the line and overloaded at time and committed to it time and time and time and time again. Not a lot of teams will continue to just get after you like that. It is a spectacle to watch. Give their coaching staff credit its not about who get's what stat wise its about the W.

I love our offense it is a thing of beauty, but at some point ...maybe after EB3 departs maybe it is time to go the route of "IF YOU CAN'T BEAT THEM ...JOIN THEM" ...yes it can be a boring brand of football, but it brings home chippers (championships). TIME TO GROUND and POUND...get some beef on both sides of the ball.

- GO EAGS

I see it a little differently. I'm not that concerned about the offense. After NDSU's second TD to make it 20-14 (and yeah, a missed XP in a game like this is completely unacceptable), it became readily apparent that Eastern had no answers on defense. We kinda stayed in the game when NDSU tried to establish an air attack, but the second they realized they didn't need to do that to win, it became death by a thousand cuts.

It feels to me like the whole team became demoralized when they came to the realization the defense was nowhere near good enough or physical enough to hang in the game. The tough thing is we all knew this was the likely outcome and seeing it play out in front of your eyes with no ability to alter the course was hard. We can criticize the Xs and Os, but really what it all stems from is not being big enough, strong enough, or tough enough to compete against a team committed to challenging us in a physical way.

I put in a thread yesterday that we have a unique opportunity in the new one year and done transfer World to completely retool for the Fall. We need big strong guys in the defensive front 7. Even if it means giving up a bit of speed in some positions, we must get more physical.

Oh I agree on needing more big men...NO DOUGHT ABOUT IT, but recruiting emphasis is Offense....
Getting run on like this from the Bison is nothing new...the 17/18 home game was another prime example. 375 to 70 rushing yards. I hope we can take advantage of the portable and bring in some kids that want to kick some butt! I do have a feeling that we will lose a few more kids then we should though. Going to be a crazy 3 months!
