EWU Just announced a Home and Home series with NDSU!! 9/10/2016 in Fargo and 9/16/2017 in C-Town!

I love this! I am so pumped at the level of schedule we are playing now. Some will complain its to hard and we could have some early loses but i truly believe we are going to continue to grow as a national power and making high profile match-ups only helps continue the growth!

Wow, this is very exciting. I hope both EWU and NDSU are still dominant teams by that time.

Here's what the future OOC schedules are looking like through 2019

2015
@ Oregon
Montana State
@ Northern Iowa

2016
@ Washington State
@ North Dakota State
Northern Iowa

2017
@ Texas Tech
North Dakota State

2018
@ Washington State

2019
@ Washington

I agree, I love seeing EWU play these top teams! As a player, I'd have to imagine it's more tantalizing for competitors to want to test themselves against tough OOC teams rather than cupcakes. It will definitely make the starts to those seasons tough, but EWU is at a level now where all of those FCS games are winnable, and potentially some of the FBS games as well.

How cool is this!!

I wish there was a regular game with UW and WSU (and Idaho? but that will likely come sooner or later), I see a couple leading to 2019, but every year would be a fun opening to the season.

This is great news, the only better matchup would be ARMY or NAVY, or AIR FORCE!
There is your challenge Bill

Wow, SHSU, UNI, and now NDSU. Great job AD.

Agreed. I'd even throw Montana State in there. Despite the fact they are a familiar conference foe, it's so much better playing a home and home with the Bobcats than scheduling another division 2 gimme. I absolutely love this.

1st off love the fact that both schools came up with this match up! This is a dream come true for all football fans! This only helps both programs . . .in my opinion win or lose. Shows everyone else that is is the way you schedule. Great job Chaves!!!

I am not sure but I have a sneaking suspicion that the 2017 game could be a "Showcase Game" another ESPN game possibly that also is the Grand Opening of the completed GATEWAY PROJECT!

I see stars aligning :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I find it interesting that with both the recent Northern Iowa and NDSU announcements we host the second game. It might not mean anything but if you were the EWU A.D. and if you had a stadium expansion in the works it would only make sense to have your home game later. Hopefully one day we will get word of a big announcement, Maybe right before kickoff on Aug. 23rd!!!! :notworthy:

I love it. I know some on this board hate tough nonconference games because they think they hurt our playoff chances, but as a season ticket holder and fan I love the quality home games. And, these type of tough but winnable games season a team for conference and playoff football.

I think the dislike is towards 2 fbs games in one season. Games like these are fantastic and help keep the 2nd fbs game off the schedule...

It is not just 2 FBS games, it is a strong nonconference schedule that some posters dislike. Case in point is playing MSU as a nonconference game in years that we don't get them in conference to keep that rivalry going. I love these tough games as a fan and hate SEC style nonconference games where just getting w's is enough.
