one of the dirtiest teams we've played in while. discuss.

Poor form.

noted. You can be happy with dirty play and the way the officials jobbed us today but I'm not.

Take a deep breath and relax because the season is young. So far, we've beaten an in-state Pac 12 school and took the #1 team down to the wire. I don't think anyone would have expected us to be 1-1 at this point including most of the posters on this board. Let's focus on our own team instead of things we can't change like bad officiating or how the other team plays.

Gage can ball. I know he threw three INT's, but he also made some absolutely brilliant plays. Reminds me of BLM in 2010, taking some chances, and sometimes those risks didn't pay off. But that aggressive style also helps.

The defense is getting some stops. They look more aggressive, and they seem to play the run better than the pass, something I wasn't expecting. That being said, I think we do need to cover better.

With the youth of our team, and the play of our young players, our skill already...this is going to be a great team for a long time!

I think we need to be careful about getting too cute with Kupp. If we become overly reliant on one player, it can put him in danger, and limit the ability of our diversity of talents. Those trick plays worked against WSU, who had never seen them, but now that teams are expecting us to use Kupp that way, and it's putting him in too much danger.

Stu Stiles is going to be a force!

Ebukum is disruptive.

These injuries are concerning, but it was really good to see that the drop off between the starters and the back ups wasn't as dramatic as in many other teams.

We need some electricity on the kick returns. We used to have that when Hill would return kicks years ago.

For our team to take the lead after all of the adversity against that team shows that if we play a perfect game, our team will be almost unbeatable!

I'd like to see that interception in overtime again. It looked to me like the defender had a hold of our receivers arm, to the point he was turning him, allowing another defender to get the pick on what appeared to be an errant pass.

That was a frustrating way to lose. The officiating was some of the worst I have seen, but like everyone has mentioned, you simply can't turn the ball over that many times. It'd be cool to play these guys again this year.[says every team that we beat, careful what you wish for

Careful what you wish for

Why?

I'm sure every team you beat says that but not every team you beat puts up those kind of numbers against you in the Fargo Dome. We spotted you 8 points (pick 6 and miss PAT) and still took it to overtime on the road. I would like our chances in the rematch.

And if we did play you again, that would mean being in the playoffs which are still not a lock for us given the schedule.

Terrible officiating on both sides (the Bourne TD comes to mind) but I don't think NDSU was trying to be cheap.

The three TO's is what cost us the game - yeah, we had to take our shots, but you're not going to win a ton of games being -3 in the TO margin. Who knows what would have happened had we not missed that XP. Doh! Let's hope Coop's good to go next week.

We were the best team on the field and as Ranger points out, 3 TO's was definitely the difference. Hard to win with 10+ penalties and negative turnover margin against a good team on the road. Was a little more surprised at how unready we came out in the OT.

Despite the loss, this team can learn and grow from the mistakes and this should launch the Eags to a BigSky Championship run and a playoff hunt. Expect a special season for this young team.

Positives were resilience in the face of penalties and TO's; defense bowed up when it counted; deep WR corp made spectacular plays in tight windows all game and OL performed well. Enough said. Next week at home should be AWESOME.

My obZervations; 1) I really thought/felt our "D" played hard, high energy and sure tackling. I was informed by some ex players who watched that statistics said otherwise. They also mentioned when you have this quick scoring offensive unit the defense are out on the field a loooong time and that accounts for something. 2) I too remember the "Gunslinger" having thrown a few int's at the start of 2010 that was concerning to all...he worked out of that. 3) The Bison faithful, many who know the game quite objectively, said their defense is questionable. They have gone from believing they would win vs Iowa next week to getting bitch slapped by 3 td's due to inefficiency of their defense unless something gets changed. I believe our offensive is just that good. 4) Concerned about injuries, special teams and establishing a run game of sorts (other than GG). 5) I like the product we have and am more excited about this season than I thought I'd be with the late season slide and brutal schedule.

*Looking forward to the UNI game with much anticipation. Hope to see some fellow board mates tailgating. I should be easy to spot. I'll be the old fat guy enamored and surrounded by college aged coeds.
