Take away the first seven minutes and spotting the Bison a 24-4 lead, and the Wildcats were great! But that is kind of like saying, “Well other than that Mrs. Lincoln, did you enjoy the Play?”

Gotta ditch these awful starts. Why isn’t the team fired up out of the gates at the Purple Palace?

Its hard to get up for an arena that is empty. Nobody wants to come to the games. Whether they don’t support the coaches or the program as a whole or they don’t like the lack of good teams coming in, despite NDSU being one of the only good teams to come through. The athletes are stuck between a rock and a hard place and the only way out is to fire Duft and get new blood. Whether you like him as a person or his coaching style, it’s time for a change. We need someone new to spark excitement, new energy. Someone who isn’t afraid to take hard games it takes two to tango and Duft is hiding behind the “no one wants to play us” mantra a little too much, when in fact teams would come if he would be willing to travel to them as well. Not saying he is to blame for all of it but he hides more than he admits. Hard for me to believe people are okay with the same average team every year. At the least we should host an MTE every year like Montana has started to do

Yup! I really hate to speak ill of the coaches but winning takes care of all that and we're not winning. Duft was the wrong hire. He was a Rahe clone and Rahe had lost his edge about 2019 or so. He had stopped recruiting quality bigs. Remember Bolomboy and Davis? The 8 year contract was an unbelievable mistake made by the administration and previous AD and we're still feeling the effects. It is time to start over. This goes for football and basketball. I'm sick of Weber being average and it being OK with the Administration.
Looking at the Dee with around 1500-2000 attending is a joke. I do believe that fans will return if they put a better product on the court.

The apathy for the Weber athletic teams is getting loud. I wish people would express their feelings on the football and basketball teams loudly so the President and AD can hear what is being thought and felt. Weber should not be in this position. Attendance is a pretty good indication but more has to be done.

My apathy can be summed up as a result of the following:
1. Transfer portal. Now we are a single A farm team at best.
2.NIL. No loyalty, longevity, consistency, or continuity. Can’t compete with the P4 or even G5 programs.
3. As a result, we have mediocre teams and no real future to become competitive.

The old days of building a program over several years is over. Now, it’s one and done. Hard to get excited about the current system and death of intercollegiate athletics.

I agree with this 100%! The future looks bleak for all the things you've stated. NIL and the portal have ruined college sports. really hard to build that connection with the athlete when they're gone so soon. It is the new normal and I guess we'll have to get used to it but I think schools of ilk are in some trouble.

I agree the future looks bleak because Weber isn’t a school with a lot of money. It can be fair to think people aren’t willing to provide money for an average product either though. So far all of the “best” players have stayed. Weber State really hasn’t seen any one and done players leaving to bigger schools. Any players that leave are shipped away by the staff because they aren’t “good enough” or in other words they weren’t properly developed by average coaches

So true, the glory days of yore for Weber State BB are history...at least in the present environment.
It's telling outside that as well, BYU fans are ecstatic for their BB getting the #1 recruit...playing for just one year stated loud & clear then it's onto the gold mine of the NBA!
