New Associate AD: Markus Jennings

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State athletics department has added Markus Jennings as its Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, it was announced today by Director of Athletics Dr. Terry Wanless.

Jennings, who will officially start on July 7, comes to Sacramento State from Kent State where he was the Assistant Athletics Director/Director of Athletic Advancement. With the Hornets, Jennings will oversee the department's external operations which includes fundraising, marketing, media relations and ticketing.

The Hornet Club is having a town hall meeting on July 22 at 6 PM in the Alumni Center. I imagine he will make his public debut at that event.

Along with this article from the Bee, sounds like they may have found a likely replacement for Wanless, someone with attention to detail. Why else would you leave a poition KNOWING there is going to be a new AD unless...

BTW sounds like Sears is hiring James Montgomery as an assistant. Hope he can lay off the ganga...
