• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.
  • Hi Guest, want to participate in the discussions, keep track of read/unread posts and more? Create your free account and increase the benefits of your eGriz.com experience today!
  • Guest, do want an ad free experience on BigSkyFans.com among other benefits? Upgrade your account today!

Simply click your profile name > account upgrades > BigSky Club > choose between the year long subscription (two free months) or month to month

Thanks for the continued support. Cheers!

New board

By the way, Chris. Thanks for taking on this project. I'm the first to admit you are in a thankless position. But I truly appreciate the fact that you are willing work with those of us that post on this board, almost catering to the users. Too many times it seems that all you get are belly aches about one thing and another. You know, "I don't like this", or "I wish it could do that." Few people take the time to properly thank those of you that have stressed and toiled over endeavors like this.

Again, from me and I'm sure a bunch of other users, thank you for all of your efforts.

Thank you!

what I liked about the old board was that it felt like it was ours, different from everyone else, we had an identity of our own, it felt like home, now we are all the same no diversity, we changed over to the board everyone else uses, i would rather everyone else changed over to the one we use, I know that would not work, but I felt more like the old board was unique and no one else had one like it, I will become accustomed to the new one, and adapt accordingly, like everything else in life, learn to live with it, or go without.

I tend to agree, its nice to have your own place, instead of piggy backing on a site run by a griz fan (no offense ;)). It kind of reeks of small time, which we are.

Before we go and paint Chris as a saint, I don't think it is entirely thankless..... I imagine they have hopes it will become a money making venture.

That will be my last post on this subject.... it is what it is.

Not trying to be defensive here but I was asked to do this and I agreed to help out by offering this for free.

When you talk about piggy backing on a site ran by a griz fan, isn't that better than piggy backing on a site that is ran by, well who knows who. The proboards site is a site that's whole purpose is to make money, mine isn't.

The reason I took this project on is because I enjoy College Football, especially the big sky conference therefore I am wanting to do what I can to make the online fan experience for the fans of the Big Sky the best it can be.

Chris...never mind the naysayers...I know how hard you've worked to make this thing a go...your efforts are appreciated. Just the simple fact that you're willing to make changes as we go along shows your commitment to making this into something we can all embrace. Hopefully we'll all do our part to help.

Whether the admins or anyone else is making money was not my point. The point is that Chris is offering each and everyone that regularly posts on this board for input on the final design and capabilities of the board. I don't think that I would have the patience to take each comment without getting myself all worked up, taking offense to some of the comments or thowing my hands up in desparation and giving up. I'm not saying that any malicious comments were made. I'm saying that after awhile, they become overwhelming. Frankly, I couldn't do it.

Again, thanks for taking on this tiger. I appreciate it.

Chris...

thanks for adding the links to other Big Sky sites at the bottom of the page. A very nice touch...a tip-o-the-hat to ya!

I appreciate your efforts Chris, I really do, but what I REALLY like is the color of your hat!!!!

 how did I let that slip!!!! It's from a local fly shop, so I will continue to wear it :)

Chris, thanks for your great work and contributions made to make our Board successful. You are a class act. Good fishing this summer if it ever comes. I am not sure Idaho will see the end of our Spring run-off. We still have well over 4' in McCall, ID and it continues to snow.

I'm a couple weeks late with this reply, but really, these boards are easily customizable. You can give them your own feel and do anything you want with them. They have great features, and Chris is pretty good with this kind of stuff. He helped (read: did most of the work) me getting the WyoNation board stood up and running, and I think it has a great feel. I think if you take a look at that board, plus the Portland State forum, you can do some really cool stuff with them. Give it time, and this board will be yours. Hell, if you feel the need to design a schnazzy logo for the top of the page, and change the background color, as well as the menu colors, you can do that too. So if there's any graphic art majors out there, feel free. What Chris is saying.. the board is yours.. make it like you want it, and what's easiest. This is definitely a good change, and I think this is a bit more intuitive than your old board (I lurked occasionally).. it's good stuff.

Here's to a fun football season!

Yes, thanks, Chris. Our old board administrator was probably burning out and it does take some time to monitor these things. Thanks to Patrick (SLC Bengal) for his hard work and insights. :D
