There is a new Cal Poly Sports message board. The old one is still up, but the new one is all sports and no smack and free of the trols that live at the old one. Feel free to visit.

That's the most entertaining part of any board.

Checked the board out, it's almost as bad as eGriz! All hail the mighty Mustangs, they are the best, they do no wrong... You know, the same delusional mentality that most Griz ans have . I like Sac Buzz because the posters seem to be grounded, unlike other boards, especially team specific ones.

I really enjoyed their thread about which FBS conference they'll be moving to once the moratorium is over, the WAC or the MWC :|. Real interesting stuff :| . They talk about it as if it's a sure thing, as if there is no question.

As someone mentioned previously, what's with their love affair with the manure pile? I just don't get it.

I will not be going back there, I stopped looking at eGriz for the same reasons, they are delusional.

Imagine that, fans dreaming big and being excited about their school on a FAN board.

And if you think that it has never been mentioned about Sac State going to the WAC on this board, than you too are delusional.

About the love affair with the UC Davis, there is little love, but there is respect.

love, respect after a few drinks who cares?

Yes, they were king of the shit pile while in D2, what do you respect now? Besides davis being the Harvard of the west and CPSLO being the next Yale? These two schools will single handedly raise the academic perception of the MWC!

Funny, CPSLO is a wart covered member of the CSU just like us, how ironic.

Sounds like this board has an inferiority complex. Part of the respect comes from the fact that Davis has always been willing to play Cal Poly even when we were DI and they were DII. Sac State not so much. Hell, Cal Poly probably has as many football wins against the Big Sky in the six years as Sac State has. They certainly have a better winning percentage.

As far as CPSLO being a member of the the same CSU system as Sac State, yes were are. The warts however covering the system are not coming from SLO.

Best of luck. Way to be good sports.

SloStang, first of all congrats on the new board. I won't post anything but I'll probably drop in from time to time to check up on the latest SLO news. I'm not a fan of having all the sports in one massive area but whatever, my opinion is obviously meaningless with respect to what SLO fans do or think of their board. The site looks sharp and will most likely do well.

Second, I have to agree with my fellow posters about the MWC talk. I admit I laughed when I saw the headline but as you said, what else are fans to talk about. My opinion on the matter is that with the MWC virtually on the doorstep of BCS admittance, a move by the MWC to add FCS move ups would result in the conference getting laughed out of any BCS talk. Such a move would just not benefit the MWC in any way shape or form.

Third, a talk about a move to the WAC is completely feasible for Sac State, CP, and "the farm extension". Quite frankly it's either that or staying in the FCS. What happens if they all remain FCS is another topic.

Finally there is definitely a lot of cow on cow love on that new board. I don't understand the circle jerk you guys have going on with "the farm extension", but whatever floats your boats. I understand respecting an opponent and all that, but proclaiming to be tied at the hip with whatever moves each respective athletic department/school does is incomprehensible. Either way we (maybe just me) do appreciate your participation on this board as you have provided some very timely recruit info and other news regarding western FCS schools. :)

I think the scheduling has more to do with CP and "the farm extension" needing opponents to schedule more than anything else. If Sac schedule CP every season, we'd be stuck with the same schedule (with only the FBS opponent changing) year in and year out. CP definitely does not have more BSC wins than Sac does.

Must be close if we do not. I am sure we have a better winning %.

Since 2004 Cal Poly is 15-7 against the Big Sky. What is Sac State's record in the Big Sky since 2004? Answer: 17-29

Sac State has 17 wins in 46 games against the Big Sky. Cal Poly has 15 wins in 22 games. Had we played Sac State in 2007 and 2008 we would have the same amount of wins. So my bad, Sac State does have two more wins in the Big Sky in the last six years. A grand total of 2. You must be so proud.

No disrespect intended, but a lot of comments on the board were pretty outlandish and completely out of the realm of reality.

I guess I'm spoiled due to how much time I spend on this board and the knowledge about FCS that many of the posters here have. I've said it before, of all the school specific boards I've visited, Sac Buzz is one of the more grounded ones. Every season there is talk about a move to FBS, it's a pretty typical off season topic.

The new Mustang board looks great, no doubt!

I share SD's sentiments, I enjoy reading your posts, you have a lot of great info and have been very supportive. Don't take anything personal.

Remember the all-time record is 15-16 Cal Poly, it's not like Poly dominates Sac State in athletics. Sac State will play Poly again, that's for sure, it just wont be until the season after next.

In the GWC "the farm extension" is Poly's biggest competition  . The only ranked team in the GWC ever is Poly, the BSC usually has at least three top 25 teams each season, at one point last season, there were four. By the end of last season, the GWC didnt have any.

I'm sure if Sac played transitionals and provisionals blah blah blah every year in conference, they'd have a great record year after year as well.

I think the talk about the MWC is absurd also. If you look, Musty keep trying to bring the thread back to reality about going even to the WAC for SLO. There are a lot of people on the new board not living in reality. Peter is the king of this.

As far as love for Davis, ever been to a Davis/Poly game. There is no love. There is plenty of dislike though. I think you can not like someone and still respect them. If the WAC does take on new members in a conference shuffle, they probably will be looking at Sac State, Davis and Poly like you say. MWC, not so much.

As for the record of Sac State vs Cal Poly in football, I realize that the serries is at 15-16 and it has been a great rivarly over the years. That is why I wish it would continue. I know the death of the serries came when the Big Sky added a 9 member. I just hope we play some game in the future. Maybe we can meet up in the playoffs in 2010?

Sorry, I got a little pissy. This thread was just rubbing me the wrong way.

SA pretty much summed it up. Don't forget 3 conference wins only gets maybe a 6th place finish in the BSC...3 wins in the GWC lands you a conference championship and a spot on the couch to watch the playoffs along side the BSC teams with 3 conference wins.
