I'd hold off on calling him the real deal until he proves he is. Looks like he got benched after three games this season.

He could have been injured too. Lot's of unknowns at this point. Regardless we need some guys to compete at the QB spot.

For what it's worth, according to the college newspaper out there, he began the season as the starter but ended as the backup. And then looking at the last couple games in which he appeared, his performances weren't anything spectacular.

Weber has a lot of "qualified" QBs right now and Hilinski would be the second for this class. I'm really thinking he is going to be playing another position for the Cats.
I think...going into Spring Ball, that the QB depth chart should look something like this

1. Jadrian
2. Billy
3. Chad or Bradshaw
4. The guy from Dixie is back too.

Yes, we don't know what the circumstances were and don't know what to expect. However, RCC had a respectable season and Hilinski came from quality High School in LA. (Sherman Oak Notre Dame). In comparison, the HS is one of the elite in the Calif. SS. Great coaching staff. We will see how he pans out.

Well let see what Jay Hill can do with him. He is prototypical QB. :willybs:

It looks like he was offered a scholarship by the University of Maryland. He also took visits to Colorado and UCLA when he was in high school. This kid could be really good but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't redshirt next year unless Hill thinks he will be the starter.

According to his Twitter account, he's been enrolled since the start of the semester.

No. If he had signed prior to today, he would be in school now and would have been announced. He either changed his mind or we did. There is a possibility that he was not an academic qualifier or that he has some classes to make up in the summer. If that was true, he could still be coming in the fall, after he takes care of business. If he signed with someone else, we should be able to find it.

His brother signed with Washington State. As for Kelly, he said he was enrolled at Weber and inferred he was with the team today. It is on his Twitter. But you are right Olds...he would have been announced today. Maybe he is a walk on? Or receiving aid from another option. He is an extremely good student. Pre-Med from what I've heard.

If he is in school at Weber already, then I see no reason why they wouldn't have announced it today. Even if he was on an academic grant, they still would have signed him to a LOI. I'm confused! :lol:
