According to Verbal Commits, Jacob McCord, 6-7,225 F from Big Bend JC, has committed to ISU. McCord is averaging 28 points and 12 rebounds a game, and leads the NWAC in both categories. So ISU has commits from two "bigs" for next year, which is much needed in light of the rebounding performance (-10) so far this year.

He looks more like a 'big' guard who can rebound. Looking at stats and recent news he can shoot the 3.
From BB website
"McCord went 34/61 (56% from the field, including 53% from the arc) tallying a 33 ppg average, 14.67 rebounds a game to go with 4 steals and 4 blocks.

His top performance was against Mesa CC (9-3) where he put up 40 points on 67% shooting including 7-11 (53%) from the arc and 13 rebounds. McCord was named to the all-tournament team."

Size is a benefit either way.

As Bill Evans is fond of saying, "If you want to rebound, recruit a rebounder." If he's averaging 12 rebounds a game that tells me he's a rebounder.

Jacob McCord was named the Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year...

JACOB MCCORD
BIG BEND - SOPHOMORE - FORWARD

Vancouver, WA-The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) office is proud to announce that sophomore forward, Jacob McCord from Big Bend Community College is the 2017 Baden NWAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Year.

McCord finished the season averaging a double-double with 25.6 ppg and 12 rebounds per game. Both his scoring and rebound totals topped the NWAC leaderboard this season.

McCord was held to single digit scoring only once in 30 games on the year with a high point game of 43. He also registered double-digit rebounds in 20 of those games with a high of 21.

Known by his tremendous work ethic, leadership, and blue-collar approach, McCord is a player who never took a practice or game off.

With his skills, along with an excellent GPA, McCord has committed to play for Idaho State University in the fall.

From a pure numbers perspective and not having seen him play, McCord appears to bring a lot to the table. If he follows through on his commitment to ISU I think he'll be a nice addition. The late signing period begins tomorrow and runs through mid-May.
