New HC Blind Hopes and Wishes

I mean, Taylor had more resources and brand at Stanford. If he had a better record, probably wouldn't have gotten fired. Because his behavior is not new from what I understand.

Let's not forget that Taylor's Sac State teams couldn't stop ANYONE on defense and we questioned his decision making at the end of games.

No, I'm not a Taylor hater.

I never liked Andy Thompson's defense. He was a great guy very nice but i never felt he was a good DC here in Sac. Those teams were lead by the offense in everyway. Id love to get Taylor back if Marion decides to move on. 750k salary that Marion gets goes to Taylor with the same resources and if he can find a great DC with the way he calls plays we'd be in business at any level.

TT had to follow the Stanford Academic entrance standards. The dumbest academic student at Stanford is light years smarter than the brightest at Sac State.

Sac beat Stanford and TT. I don’t think any player while under TT at Sac even remotely was considered by Stanford.
 
TT got rugged a bit at the Furd, don't think anyone could have anticipated their move to the ACC. But some of the restrictions regarding academics and transfers he had to know going in so that's on him. Also the fact that he was a Cal alum probably didn't go over well with their fans/donors compiled by the fact that their AD "slummed it" with an FCS coaching hire in the first place. And yes, if he was winning there would have never been a complaint to get him out. It'll forever be hilarious that we beat him in '23.

Oh well, it is what it is. Can't see why he wouldn't be a viable option as HC if/when Marion moves on.
 
I bought season tickets this year to reward the program (in my head) for going big, but this has honestly been one of the most blah seasons for me. Have not enjoyed the team's play overall, the sloppiness, the jabbering from the school pres....all of it has me down. And I'm tired of watching games at crappy Hornet Stadium.

I would welcome Coach Taylor back in a heartbeat with a larger budget and a huge axe to grind. This time I think he'd be around for the long haul.

Anyone notice that Wood has been pretty quiet since the Montana debacle? Hoping he got some important feedback to tone it down, act like a leader.

He has been VERY quiet.
 
What does act like a leader mean? FCS is JV and the Mascot does not look very grizzly. These are facts. There were no personal attacks. Not like he called someone a clown.

I'm sure you all excuse someone who has done something way worse in their professional or political career because he's your guy.

Getting mad at Wood for other people's FAKE outrage instead of defending your school will never sit well with me. The other schools never liked us and never will. Not even with Taylor here. We were just unimportant so no one paid attention. Now that we have attention, our fans want to shrink and side with the enemy.

People hated the Patriots because too much attention. People hate the Chiefs because too much attention. Cowboys.......We have a lot of attention that others feel is undeserved (jealousy). People are gonna hate and pick at every little thing.

I don’t know why Sac is a town is full of people that really so much what others will think rather try to be great like President Wood is doing. If we had the opposite president quiet fucosed on academics and lowering costs, would that be better?

I've followed Sac State football for 50 years when it was played in a 2k seat high school field...stop with the lecture, child. When someone is acting like a jackass, they deserve to be called out. I love a lot of the things he's done, but I'm also not a ridiculous fan boy...he was out of control last month and calling out Montana was barely in the top 10.

You know how I know I'm right? He, himself, has changed his behavior since then.

Why don't you actually talk to anyone in the athletic department to see what they think....cause they'll all tell you to the person he needed to chill out.

I've criticized Wood myself and have said I prefer he didn't operate how he does at times. Like vocalizing timelines on things he doesn't have full control over. That still doesn't mean he is a bad leader. Nothing about Sac State's situation would be better if he kept to himself and said nothing. How does the quote go? You're nobody if nobody talks about you.

Would love that list of top ten worst things he did in the past month.
