If I were on a search committee I wouldn't feel the need to contact Jr Adams or Zak Hill. If they do not know there is an opening they must have put Eastern way behind, if they know and do not make contact themselves they would not appear to be interested.

The fact that Adams hasn't heard anything from EWU doesn't necessarily mean that he isn't aware that there's an opening for HC. It just means that he hasn't been contacted about it.

I would think the candidate would contact the employer. Not vice versa.

Still think Best is our guy. I like Zamberlin a lot, but I don't think he fits with where we're at right now. If he's available, I'd love to see the new coach try to get him on staff.

The Zamberlin part? He seemed like a great coach when he was here the first time. Had he not bolted Central for Idaho State, he almost certainly would've been Eastern's hire when they got Baldwin (assuming the McElwain thing still would've gone down the same). He was really good at Central, and it's hard to fault him for being bad at a place like ISU where EVERYONE is bad.

Also, we were decent on defense last year. And we'd been terrible for several years before that. I'm hoping that isn't a flash-in-the-pan season like 2010 was. Bringing in an experienced defensive coach with a track record of success--- especially at LB where we haven't seen a lot of improvement--- would be nice for the program.

Thanks. I wasn't aware that he had been on the coaching staff previously but I've only been following the program since 2008. Based of what you have mentioned I wouldn't be opposed to getting him on the staff in some capacity. I just think that for the head coach job we need to be looking at a young and energetic type guy.

We also have to replace an OC, WR Coach, and QB coach. Here's a name for the WR Coach: Brandon Kaufman. Why not?

Why are we still talking about this guy? Agree with ewueagfan that young and energetic is the best option whether it's someone who is already on the staff like Coach Best or Coach Schmedding or coming from somewhere else. Not looking to be an asshat, but you CANNOT excuse four years at ISU with NO improvement IMO.

This is probably just me getting antsy because there hasn't been any new information and beginning to wonder what Chaves is doing. With the scare's of the past and recently in December of BB going to Nevada, you would think Chaves would have already done some reaching out and had a good list of probable candidates who showed some interest. Microwaving the situation a bit. It's only been 5 days? Is that all? Alright, Valium time.

Not sure if BK has coached at any level or is even interested in doing so. I do think he had some sort of WR Academy at some point, though.

Not sure how Hill left, but it is what it is. I don't think we will hear anything till after Wednesday about hiring. I have a feeling the coaches have been recruiting the heck out of the signee's and trying to keep the ones that we have at the last minute. Looking forward to this Wednesday should be another GREAT DAY TO BE AN EAGLE!

It's interesting that Hill may have said that and feels this way. When he left, I had heard from two different people close to the program that he and Baldwin did not see eye to eye and was a big reason for his departure. Nothing ever became public, but it would explain why Hill doesn't want to come back.

I need to edit what I put on this blog. Reference Zach Hill, the letters didn't come out while typing, and is being taken for something else. What I meant was "forget him". I am sorry for any misunderstanding in what I have written. I do get pissed when people think they are too good when it comes to the Eagles.
There are to many individuals that would like to come to Coach Eagles Team. We need to get the monies up so we can attract some more Great Coaches. Hope to see some of you this am. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic E. Wallace
