New logo and helmet coming?

A friend of mine who works in college branding sent me these and said they are the new logos and helmet for the coming school year:

I trust my friend but anybody else hearing that we are really going to change logos?
 
I like them! Not a huge fan of the new Klawz emblem, but I do like that we're going back to "UNC" Now we need to just stick with them and not change every five years. Branding does matter.
 
I think the Bear is laughing at something. . . . . I hope we stay with the NC on the helmet, I like the way it looks. Not a fan of the UNC on the helmet.
 
Like a year ago there was talk of this maybe it's finally happening... I'm neutral on it I don't care what the logo is just don't be a laughing stock wearing it is a better marketing idea.

I think we should alternate between the gold and blue helmet. I do agree with the UNC. We are THE UNC, not the other fake one in the southern part of the country!!!! :nod: :nod:
 
I'd like to see alternating helmets between blue (home) and white (road). I don't think that the gold would look right with the new bright yellow color.

We can barely afford one set of helmets hahah SO have we completely done away with the other gold color? I just think we look too much like nau now with these colors
 
I agree that if it's yellow, we will look just like NAU. The uni's are hopefully gold. Also, all UNC affiliated twitter accounts have the new Klawz logo on them.
 
Probably because it was the logo they used when I was at UNC, but I liked the old one we used when we won back to back titles (though the C is hard to see on this one):

I like the new Logo. We were never the "Griz", which was what our logo implied. The new logo uses the more generic bear head which is more encompassing. I like going back to UNC, also. I'm neutral on the NC versus UNC.
 
It's weird though that this was launched on the facebook page without any sort of announcement... or was there and nobody noticed? Also with baseball season still going you have a team still playing with the old NC logo while a new one is now out there... I've never seen a situation where a logo change just happened in the middle of a sports season.

Only UNC I guess... :lol:
 
I don't know why, but I'm partial to the"gold" gold helmets. NC or UNC.....either one.
As far as change is concerned, coaches who take over struggling programs generally make uniform/helmet changes to signify a"change in the culture".
I am looking forward.....

Not necessarily always the case. College programs are always changing uniforms and logos. Montana Grizzlies change their uniforms every 2 or 3 years. NAU just did what we did as well as Montana State not that long ago. I don't see a correlation.
