New number 1?

It'll narrow the gap in votes, but it won't bump them. They'll have to lose another to get moved down and even then it won't be far.

May be a good example of the theory, if you are going to lose lose early. I don't know if the Eagles are worthy of #1 but certainly higher than Jacksonville St, Chatanooga, or SHSU based on our body of work.
I can see where NDSU could stay #1 but I doubt it. They lost mid season at their place to a conference foe.
#1 EWU
#2 NDSU
#3 SHSU

I don't necessarily think we should be at #1...but a 4-2 SDSU over us with our resume? No.

Exactly. They are going to punish NDSU for a bad loss, but not punish SDSU for their bad loss against Cal Poly?

I don't think either loss is a bad one, but wow, I think these guys are smoking crack.

FWIW, I'd keep NDSU at #1. Given their habit of winning in the playoffs, they deserve a higher rank when the record is the same. Now if they lose a second, down they go. But with everyone having one loss at this point, I'd take them as #1 based on historical evidence.

personally, I'd have Jacksonville St at 1, NDSU at 2 and EWU at 3. Sam Houston is undefeated playing patsies.

Though the simple rating has us at 51, so definitely not the craziest poll out there.

That was the end of last years SRS. I don't know when they put one out for this year. We would definitely be very high on that list if it were done right now.

NDSU is still the #1 team in my book. SHSU and Jax St are good teams, but just a step below where NDSU is, IMO.

The AGS poll is better than the Stats and Coaches polls and has us at 1.

I think you can make a case for EWU, NDSU, JSU, Sam, or The Citadel.

Actually a #1 ranking makes that target on our back even more attractive so a 2,3,or 4 may be a better place to be anyway.
