I see similarities in Arevalo's and Cullinan's experience, and am hopeful she will continue where Dr. Arevalo left off. Honestly, I see her vote of no confidence at SOU as a positive. Faculty there were upset with her budget cuts that eliminated programs with little relative value, but she focused on SOU's long term viability. There weren't many positive things being said about her and her previous decisions at former institutions. Once again, EWU proved they don't like to take care of their own by choosing someone from the outside to take over the Presidency. hno:
I also heard some disturbing news about the Gateway Project. I hope they are just rumors, but has anyone heard ANYTHING recently about the progress?
Rumors have been flying around for some time now. I do not know much more than many of you and possibly less but I can say with all certainty the architectural team was and is legit. They ARE licensed architects.ewueagle2010 said:Not trying to start a panic, but I heard that the whole project was made out to be a lot closer to happening than we all want to believe. It was also said that whoever the architect was for the project, wasn't really an architect, but a buddy of a high ranking member of the university and therefore, the project is basically a pipe dream at this point. Again, I try to stay out of rumor mills, but these comments came from some people I trust and the long "silent phase" we find ourselves in seems more and more fishy everyday.
