• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

New Scoreboard ??

If you were at Mondays game you probably noticed the scoreboard was not working properly due to student malfunction (this is a good thing) ! Word on the street is that JH is looking at replacing it with an overhead scoreboard which will be a huge improvement. Lets hope this comes true as it will help with recruiting, atmosphere, attendance, everything !!! GO BEARS !!

We also need a new camera man that runs the camera for the Big Sky TV broadcasts. It is an embarrassment to our school with how they try to show the basketball games. Instead of panning the game they use two cameras set to show the left and right side of the court. Half the time the guy running the switch forgets to change it so you watch an empty court for a while they remember to get it back on track only to forget again and you are again watching an empty court. At least they use the radio feed for the audio and Troy does an excellent job.

The issue with the camera... OMFG... I tried to watch the Wyoming game and half the time they were showing the half court that was empty. It was seriously, kindergarten type shit... I turned the game off.

I assumed they were doing that because it was over Thanksgiving and nobody was there to do it and they had a monkey running things.

So if this is continuing I'm going to be pissed.

And I remeber hearing a few years back the ceiling was too low to hang a scoreboard especially for volleyball.

The people talking about it had heard they have a new low profile design that would supposedly work. I guess we will find out

There are actually 2 issues:

1) Weight. The roof structure is not reinforced enough to support a big scoreboard.
2) Profile. As mentioned earlier.

Also, I wouldn't be too quick to blame problems on "student" error. The setup has posed numerous problems, from software to wiring. There's only so much that can be done when the computers & the scoreboard don't play nicely.
