New tight ends and special teams coach

It appears that Sac State will be hiring a new tight ends, tackles and special teams coach. Klayton Adams will work in conjunction with Rem on the line. He will also be a huge asset in the recruiting area since he's from the Sacramento area, has D-1 bowl experience, and connects with the young guys. Klayton has experience at the D-I level having played for Boise State as the starting center. He has a winning attitude and will join Anthony Parker (another Boise guy) in bringing new life into the program. He worked at Western Washington for 2 years and joined the University of Washington coaching staff earlier this year as a grad. assistant for tight ends. He is highly regarded in coaching circles in the West and has spent time with Sperbeck with line schemes and trying to instill the Boise State attitude of winning. He can also call on his Boise connections for special teams help. With the new O-line recruits coming in, this is the perfect time for Klayton to join the team.

That's exciting news! Perhaps this addition will give the Hornets another dimension to their offensive schemes.

The offense seemed so one dimensional last year, bordering on predictable. It was either throw to TW or running Hilliard, with nothing in between. With both of them gone, it will force us to introduce other schemes; throwing to tight ends, screens, swing passes, etc to set up the long ball to our WR.

Any video available from scrimmage #2?

My buddy who went last week said we were doing alot more passing than scrimmage #1. He also said Kenslow Smith was not impressive - he was held out of some earlier pre scrimmage drills and sent running for talking smack to teammates. Then post scrimmage, Sperbeck called him out in front of the team and KS just smirked at him. Apparently this did not sit well with Coach, who told him to hit the showers. I hope he gets his head screwed on right - we need all the help we can get until Wilkin's physical status is known...

Wow, what kind of JC scrub thinks he can walk into a D-I situation and be a premadonna hot dog? Jeez, at least produce a 1,000 yard season before you get that sense of entitlement!

Hearing thing like this really make me appreciate what a class act Bryan Hilliard is!

I don't get it either...The ink's barely dry on his schollie and Kenslow's getting sent to the showers. Not a good way to start off your career, bub. Can they revoke schollies at will, or is there some special procedure?

This is another big time hire by coach Sperbeck and his staff. I knew Klayton when he was in high school and he was always a passionate and confident young man. If I am not mistaken he was a player or a coach on Boise State's Fiesta Bowl team that beat Oklahoma. That kind of experience in that kind of program is second to none. Klayton comes from a great family and I am even more excited about the era of Hornet football that we are entering.

GO HORNETS!!

Klayton was the starting center in the Liberty Bowl and coached in the Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma. The great thing about the Boise coaching philosophy is that they don't just play the game, they prepare for all the different schemes and situations the other team may throw at them.

Klayton is an execellent choice to help bolster the offense with the Boise State philosophy. His skill and expertise will help move the program in a winning direction. BigChi1 thanks for the excellent lead-in.

I agree Klayton Adams is an excellent hire and I'm looking forward to seeing his work with the line. However I am amused by the love fest (though well deserved) for Boise, considering their success has alot to owe to UCD: Coach Hawkins (aggie alum), Coach Petersen (aggie alum).

I am sure there is another website somewhere where they talk about that. It sure won't be on this one.
