Debate the pro/con of having a track in the stadium, why not have the best?

Good presentation: http://www.hornetsports.com/sports/track/2013-14/releases/2014052248eetj" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Glad to see our CIA graduates putting drones to work, haha.

My alma mater, Lodi High, FINALLY breaks ground on a new 400m all-weather track to replace our 440yd dirt track (which I believe was built in the '40s). I'm taking off early to see the ceremony. The wife of our late 30-year coach will do the honors, as the track is to be dedicated in his honor. Don Womble Track and Field. I can't wait....

The track does look awesome. Glad they have it. I just wish it didn't have to be located at the football field. That's high schoolish. The atmosphere and sight lines are so much better for football games when the fans are able to be closer to the field, as everyone knows. I wish they could find a way to separate the two at Sac State.

How so? There have been NFL stadia with tracks around the field. In the one case that sticks out in MY brain, that sort of stands to reason, because it was originally built to showcase track and field at the 1932 Olympics....

SH, you answered your own question when you said "there have been".

There aren't anymore and haven't been for a very, very long time. When's the last time you saw one?

As for college, most every program worth it's weight has a football only stadium. I bet you can't find all that many FBS programs that have a track .. At least nowhere near as many that don't. In the FCS, they are slowly being fazed out.

The term I used fits because it still mostly applies to high school where not every school or district has the money or available space to separate the two.

Agreed! It would have been nice to see other upgrades to the facility.
