Our next opponent is Washington State this Saturday, and they are not happy, given the success of the rest of the Pac-12 so far. Courtesy of Jacob Thorpe of the Spokane Spokesman-Review...

If we can clean up the debacle that happened last night against Western (a big IF), we should have a shot at an upset. They aren't any better than Oregon State.

Doubtful considering WSU's 0-2 start that the atmospshere will be intimidating at all in Pullman. Viks could pull the upset if they play well in all areas w/ no breakdowns - limit penalties, turnovers, etc.

Agree they are well positioned for an upset. To win we need more big plays and no turnovers. Something less than 18 penalties would be nice also.

They key to beating Wazzu is to get Halliday frustrated. He tends to mentally meltdown after a couple of bad plays and doesn't recover. Pick off a pass early and the game gets within reach.

Keeping Halliday off-balance would sure help. WSU looks like an up-scale Western Oregon. Our corners and safeties are going to have a long afternoon.

I'll see if I can find some more articles as the week goes on. Lord knows OLive won't.

Sounds like they think Penn is a running back.
