Next Seasons Starting 5

From what I have been hearing the starting five will be:

PG: Damian Lillard
SG: Nick Hansen
SF: Kyle Bullinger
PF: Matt Washington
C: Steve Panos

Key Bench Players:
Lindsey Hughey
Darin Mahoney
TJ Benson
Trevor Morris
JC Transfer

At the PG Weber might be thin. Benson, Cottle, Dent, and Coro will be the PG Depth. However, I'm pretty sure that Lillard will be on the floor for 30mins or more next season.

Hughey starting 2 guard??
How is Coro going to compete for Freshman Of Year without being a key bench player??

My prediction is based on the fact that everyone from 2009 is back minus Davis and McCoy and no one changes positions. Of course any of this could change but...

PG: Damian Lillard
SG: Linsdey Hughey - JC transfer
SF: Nick Hansen
PF: Kyle Bullinger
C: Steve Panos

Key Bench Players:
Darin Mahoney
Trevor Morris
Matt Washington
Blake Davis, AZ 2 guard

if coro is as good as we are hearing, i bet he plays over Bensen. What about Dent? I heard he was supposed to be pretty good too.

I'm just hoping we can get a pair of really good PFs next year. in the SDSU game it was evident that that position was something of a weakness. Then again that is me comparing our guys to their 6 foot 7 guys who were really good....

I like
1 Lillard PG**
2 Hughey SG
3 Bullinger F**
4 Washington F**
5 Panos C

First off Bench
Hansen
Mahoney
Morris

** Count on it

You really think Rahe would move Bullinger to the 3?

Yes he is much better suited for SF, We do not want our 4 popping 3's. It is more about what Washington brings, than moving Bullinger.

I think Washington is better suited for the 4 than Bullinger is, mainly because Washington seems like a shot blocker/rebounder and post player, and Bullinger is more of a shooter. I think bullinger honestly should be playing the 3, although I don't know that that is the way it will necessarily turn out next season. It's hard to tell exactly what the lineup will be like next season to me, just depends on how good those recruits that are coming in are, if they are just amazing then I'm sure they'll work their way into the starting lineup. There is several different combos he could go with. Personally I'm just hoping Washington lives up to his hype(and gets another year of eligibility) and that Hughey is amazing. Also that there is a back up PG that really just comes in and is awesome, like Fulton or Coro. If those 3 things go as planned, we will be scary.(also if we could get a true big man to come in or Panos or Morris steps up then we'd be even scarier)

I definitely think that Bullinger will be moved to the 3... It fits him better. I agree with Patten jr. that Weber needs better Big Men. If Morris plays with aggression he is a monster in the paint, and could be a huge key to Weber's future success. He needs to be consistent.
Panos... Well, I really like how he has improved each season, but he still needs to become a better rebounder, and not allow himself to be intimidated by the other teams big men. His most important asset to the team will be his leadership on and off the court.
Once Mahoney becomes a more consistent scorer he could become one of the Sky's best big men. He does need to thicken up a bit this summer (Darin you need to go on PURPLEFOGDOG'S diet) and put on some muscle, but I'm really excited about Mahoney.
Fulton could make an immediate impact upon the team. He is 6'7", is thick, has great hands, moves well along the baseline, has a 7'2" arm span, can play inside and outside (he has a great Karl Malone type shot), is a shot blocker, and a rebounding machine. However, I don't really see him getting a lot of mins this next season, but who knows...
Ramos... Well... I'm not really sure. He has a good shot, is enthusiastic, and is a great at building chemistry and moral. I'd like to see him get some more mins, but who knows.

Washington will be the starting 4..

By the by, I'm not really sure if Lindsey will start right away...but I wouldn't doubt if he became a starter.

Every coach I have talked to about Coro have said exactly the same thing. He is tough, aggressive, has a great shot, can play defense, and is an amazing ball handler. He isn't really a 1, but one never knows, neither was Quayle, but Stew was able to transform him.

bullinger started as a 4 the whole season and i dont think he logged one minute as a 3 this past season. we went 15-1 in conference, i dont think he is going to change positions now. obviously rahe is a better coach than any of us so i garentee bullinger is going to start the 4 next season.

If Bullinger is our 4, next season won't be pretty. Cheesus your totally wrong. He was schooled the last two games. Montana States bigs DOMINATED Bullinger let's not even talk about the SDSU game. Let's just say this, WASHINGTON will be starting, and he won't be at 3, and he won't be at 5!!!!!!!

okay i might be wrong, but if Rahe wanted to play k-bull at 3 next year why did he not play him not even for 1 minute the whole season at that position? doesnt sound like something a 2 time caoch of the year would do. at least not to me.

bobandwaldo what is your oppinion on the matter you seem to know just about everything about weber state basketball.

Rahe also doesn't have to worry about playing Lillard Mccoy Davis and Hansen (his best players 5'6-6'4) besides Bullinger at the same time. This a big positive to have Washington a true post player at 4. Bullinger undoubtedly belongs at the 3 spot, especially against non SKY teams.

I think all of us assumed Bull would be a 3 this past season. I'm thinking since he was trained to be a 4 as a freshman...why would they bother to do that and then change him to another position.

If he wasn't a very effective starting 4, why didn't someone else start over him? And why was he an all-conference honorable mention...again, he was just a freshman. Beign all-conf is a reason it would be hard to see him changing.

I don't see him moving to the 3 just like I don't see Hansen moving to the 2.

I don't think anything is set in stone, just don't foresee a change. I've heard Bullinger say he thinks he'll be a 4 his whole career here even.

It would be pretty cool though to see Panos, Morris, Bull, Hughey or Hansen, Lillard as the starting five.

I have one question for everyone. When Wash first got hear all we heard is what an amazing dunker he was but his other skills needed work. Now all we hear is he is amazing in every aspect of the game. I really don't see him starting right away.

Does anyone hear actually know anything about him other than rumor? Unless anyone has any real info, I won't be surprised if the starting lineup is the same as this year and just swapping McCoy for Hughey.

Hey, maybe we should ask "what will next year's starting lineup be" on Stump Bobandwaldo! LOL!!

By the way, WeberSki, welcome to the forum!

Bullinger played like a 3 all season.. Cheesus how many PF's have you seen hanging out by the 3pt line? Also, when Morris, Mahoney, and Bull all were playing at the same time was Mahoney or Morris the 3? Come on, he played like a 3, or as the, 3 the entire season, and its his natural position. I'm pretty sure he will be the 3 next season. Also, Hansen is a 2.
