Next Seasons Starting 5

i agree with talhad. especially if Rahe can find a little taller, stronger player for the 4, it only seems natural to move KBull out to the 3. Hansen can shoot and handle the ball pretty well (and he is a little small for a 3), so I see no problem with him at the 2. I am no coach but it seems like changing it up this way would just make our lineup bigger and also much stronger defensively. Here is to hoping for a Harold-the-Show Jr to step in at the 4 next year.

Bullinger played like a 3 all season.. Cheesus how many PF's have you seen hanging out by the 3pt line? Also, when Morris, Mahoney, and Bull all were playing at the same time was Mahoney or Morris the 3? Come on, he played like a 3, or as the, 3 the entire season, and its his natural position. I'm pretty sure he will be the 3 next season. Also, Hansen is a 2.

i dont remember ever seeing mahoney, k bull and morris playing at the same time, but maybe they did. if they did it was not very much at all. having a 4 or 5 that can play at the three point line can really open up lanes for other players and maybe thats what Rahe wants. i thought k bull did a pretty good job at defense this season and was a good all around player (second team all conference as a freshman plus he started all year) weberski is right though that rahe had a lot of good players from 5'6 to 6'4 to play maybe forcing him to play small. i guess we will see what happens next year. plus i already talked about this with you talhad i would like to see more of mahoney and k bull on the court at the same time so its not that i think its a bad idea, i just think that Rahe knows what he is doing by establishing players at certain positions according to what type of offense he want to play.
bangalhater sucks.

There was never a time that Morris, Mahoney and Bull were all on the court at the same time. I guess if there was, maybe Mahoney was the 3. Maybe you are confusing Mahoney with Davis. Mahoney is the tall one, #32.

Also, there was never a time that Panos and Morris were on the court at the same time (at least once conf play started)

when i was on the court celelbrating the big sky championship with the team, i'm pretty sure the entire team was on the court together. so actually bull, panos, morris, and mahoney have all 4 been on at the same time.

and really who cares...

As the admin of this forum, I can confirm this is true. Every player on the team was on the court at the same time.

How come no one has mentioned the sweetest lineup possibility for next year?

1. Lil
2. Bull
3. Wash
4. Morris
5. Panos

If Bull could keep up with 2 guards that would be a sweet lineup.

I've talked to a couple guys on the team and they have mentioned that Washington isn't anything spectacular on the offensive side of the ball but expect him to block a lot of shots and get lots of dunks. I don't necessarily remember anything about rebounding, but if he is aggressive, 6'7"ish, and has a freak vertical, he should be able to rip down plenty of rebounds. But I do remember every person on the team that i've talked to about him saying simply "he's a freak". I think he is more suited for the 4 than bull, but I kind of doubt Washington will start the season in the starting line-up, unless he is just too good to not start. He already has built trust with mahoney and bullinger so I would guess he'd feel more comfortable letting them start.

Here's my take:

PG
- Damian Lillard (No brainer here)
SG - Nick Hansen (Great threat from the outside, and a guy who has the experience)
SF - Kyle Bullinger (Sliding him down to the three gives us more size)
PF - Matt Washington (From what I've heard, it'd be foolish to not start this guy. Don't need much offense from him, he can just camp out in the paint and send us some souvenirs)
C - Trevor Morris (I will almost guarantee you that Panos will start, and rightfully so, he's a 4th year senior. I just like Morris in the post a little more)

Key players off the bench: Hughey, Coro, Mahoney, Panos, Benson, Ramos, Davis, Fulton

I really think we'll have the best starting 5 in the Big Sky next season.

I noticed over at RMBNews.com they stated the starting lineup looks like
PGLillard 6'3
SGHughey6'3
SFSession6'2
PFBullinger6'7
CPanos 6'9

Very Interesting I like this, but I think I like Washington at the 4 and Bullinger at 3. Maybe we will take Xaviers model of fresh legs at all times. We are 10 deep.

10 deep for sure!
As for the lineup...I have no clue now...

Does Noble mean Coro will redshirt? Could Noble start the 2?

Will Session start the 3?

Will Hughey be a backup?

You can all forget about Dent and Cottle. They are both going elsewhere. I have also heard that Benson may also be leaving. No real evidence to that, but that is what I have heard.

I loved this thread last year so i decided to bring it back.

If Bullinger is our 4, next season won't be pretty. Cheesus your totally wrong. He was schooled the last two games. Montana States bigs DOMINATED Bullinger let's not even talk about the SDSU game. Let's just say this, WASHINGTON will be starting, and he won't be at 3, and he won't be at 5!!!!!!!

yeah lol this season was not pretty with K-Bull as our starting 4. Also Washington did dominate the whole 5 minutes of playing time he had during the season. loooooooooooooooooooooool

also i brought this thread up because i wanted to know what y'all thought about next years starting 5. I think the best bet is:
PG - Lillard
SG- Hughey
SF- Session
PF- K-Bull
C- Morris

agreed. its not a bold prediction but its what we will see. with a deeper more experienced bench we will be very good team!

Bullinger was awful this year. Bullinger= sophomore slump. He ended the season tonight as the starting 3 where he should be. Washington had a good game against BYU :!:
