Next Seasons Starting 5

Starters with backups

1. Lillard/Richardson or Coro
2. Hughey/Bamforth
3. Session/Bullinger
4. Mahoney/Fulton
5. Morris/Tresnak

Just the way I think it should be.

Players coming back: As of March 18, 2010:
1st team:
Lillard
Session
Hughey
Bullinger
Morris

2nd Team:
Noble
Bamforth
Davis
Fulton
Mahoney

3rd Teams:
Richardson
Coro
Porter
Washington
Tresnak
Crandell
Hajek

With Session leaving...

PG: Lillard
SG: Hughey
SF: Bamforth
PF: Bullinger
C: Morris

This stinks. With Session we know that Weber was a lock at winning the Big Sky, now I'm not so sure. Yes, we know that Mahoney can come into the game off the bench and give the Cats some mins, but who else. I have my hopes that some of the returning players will be able to fill the holes, but none of them have been tried or tested yet. Tresnak, Fulton, Davis, and Coro are all Freshman. And with Session gone, I'm thinking Richardson might not be red-shirted, or will Noble get more mins? Can Coro back up Lillard? What abut Porter, is he going to be legit or another Marcus Carson? Will Noble and Washington even be on the team next year?

I have consulted my crystal ball and here is the way it will be.

PG: Lillard/Hughey
SG: Richardson/Bamforth
SF: Bullinger/Davis
PF: Fulton/Mahoney
C: Tresnak/Morris

Bull will be moved to 3 because he can do it and is more natural there. Richardson will be the 1 someday, just too inexperienced now. Hughey is proven at the point. Fulton is going to be a monster. Tresnak and Morris will battle it out all year. We are a deeper and stronger team next year than this year.

It is going to be a great year to be a Wildcat!
:ugeek:

I like what your crystal ball has told us about next year - I too think it will be a better team. As is typical with a Rahe team, they will struggle the first month of the season and by the time conference play begins, they will be gelling and playing championship caliber ball.

1: Lillard/CORO/Hughey
2: Hughey
3:KBull/Porter
4: Mahoney/Fulton/KBUll
5: Morris/Washington/Mahoney

I think next year if Kbull starts it will be at the 3. If he doesn't start at the 3 I bet he comes off the bench to spell Mahoney at 4. Of course I'm basing this guess off of no knowledge whatsoever on the new guys that are coming in. Just from looking at things, it does seem that there will be some players who will be able to switch from 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5 and 5 to 4 (if that makes any sense at all  ) Looks like Rahe will have lots of options to play match up games.

Washington and Knoble may get time every once in a while. Coro will be doing his playing at a JC in Wyoming for at least year. He is leaving on good terms and if he can get into shape and hone his skills, we will welcome him back. It is really up to him. Porter won't be eligible to start playing untill mid December. I expect him to be a contributor, starting or not. Richardson is probably too good to spend much time on the bench.

BJ Porter is NOT expected to start and will be used, but I don't think that he will see extended minutes on the floor. He will be coming in as a Sophomore. That being said,

1- Lillard/Richardson
2- Hughey/Bamforth
3-Bullinger/Davis/Porter
4-Fulton/Mahoney
5-Morris/Tresnack

What about Coro? Last year I kept hearing things that he was going to be a key back up at the guard position. Is he a bust?

Also, I wouldn't doubt if the coaches are splitting a scholarship between two players. That sort of thing happens all the time. But, agreed...there isn't enough scholarships for all the players. Is Washington going to graduate in December? That might help things. He can play the entire season, but if he graduates in December that would open up another scholarship.

Thanks Weberski...maybe I should take more time and read all of the posts before I start writing...LOOOOL!!

I hope it works out for him. He is a good kid, I would like to see him come back.

So, that pretty much does it. Richardson will for sure be playing next fall, and that means another Scholarship is now open.

As I understand it, all basketball scholarships must be full rides. No partial scholarships can be given. And each school can have up to 13 players on scholarships. So, and correct me if I'm wrong, with the loss of two seniors (Panos and Hansen) and two transfers (Session and Coro) and the signing of four new players (Tresnak, Bamforth, Richardson, and Hajek) all scholarships appear to be taken (assuming Washington and Noble retain theirs).
