I don't know a lot about NAU. Only that I like Flagstaff and it isn't the middle of nowhere. However, you can see it from there.

I do know that they have a good QB and at least one good WR. Other than that, I can't tell you much about them. Please chime in here and tell me what you know.

Cookus may come back at some point this season, but he probably won't be available this week. His stand-in, Bridge-Gadd, is very athletic, a good runner, but he struggled holding on to the ball in Pocatello. He fumbled twice deep in his own territory, setting up two ISU TDs.

Emmanuel Butler is a terrific wide receiver, but their running game is mediocre. Defensively, they're very weak against the run. Idaho State put up 315 yards rushing on them, and that's not a fluke -- they came in averaging giving up 216 a game. They are very turnover prone. If you can hold onto the football and get the running game in gear, you shouldn't have any problems with NAU.

What it looks like to me is that NAU may not even attempt to run the ball against us. Our secondary has had a couple of guys banged up and 2 more on a first half suspension. They may well be thinking that they can beat us through the air. I would probably be thinking the same way. That plan might work if they can avoid turning the ball over to us. It doesn't sound like they will be stopping our O on a regular basis. Our chore will be to manage the game from the offensive side, not turn the ball over, and keep their O on the sideline. I expect our play calling to be balanced, with slightly more emphasis on the run game. We definitely need to get back on top of the turnover game.

WSU 35 - NAU 21

Go Wildcats!

Garrett has been practicing this week and may play. Although David Jones is now listed as the backup RB. Harrison and J Preator are on schedule to return from injury and start.

With the two starting DBs back I think our D can handle the NAU passing game and their running attack is weak. NAU pass defense is very good (probably best in the conference) but they struggle stopping the run. Expect a heavy dose of Davis, Jones, and Garrett. I like Weber by 10-17 points.

We have done what we have done, so far, with a sputtering O. With a new OC, new system, new QBs, new WRs, new TEs, injured starting RB, and injuries to key OL positions. When our O finally gets it together, watch out.

IMHO, we will put a lot more of it together this game. We have only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what they will be at the end of the season.

This game is shaping up to be a ball control and field position sort of game. That is our kind of game. :coffee:

Missed the first quarter but the stream is working now. It baffles me how some of these schools can’t figure out how to live stream events in 2018.

Anyways... Looking flat from what I’ve seen. Josh Davis shouldn’t be fielding punts anymore.

BSC streaming is an absolute joke! The 2/3 of the game I have been able to see only in between refreshes or browser restarts has looked less than impressive. If it weren't for a few turnovers there in the 2nd-- props to the D for creating the takeaways-- this game could look uglier than it has.

Why would they put Jenks in right after Constantine finally makes a great throw and gets the touchdown? And they didn’t even give him a read-option or anything. Just straight dropbacks. Ugh.

Apparently Pluto tv shut the stream off since the game has gone on longer than 3 hours?

Everything about this game has been a disappointment.

Glad I didn't make the trip to watch that crapfest. We have big problems. Never seen a more pathetic offense. EWU will probably destroy us.

How can you bench Constantine after a 45 yard TD pass then put him back in with a minute left in the game. What a joke. He showed enough before the bye, while Jenks showed almost nothing, to earn some trust. Then the gameplan revolves around throwing the ball to Brady May in the flat, heaving bombs downfield, and completely abondaning the run game when we were never down more than one score. Offensive coordinator should be flat out embarrassed. I’ve never heard of a team losing despite forcing 6 turnovers.
