Next year I'm not drinking the Kool Aid

Olds, since you asked...

"A mixture of high-dose prescription-strength cough syrup, Sprite or Mountain Dew and a Jolly Rancher fruit candy thrown in for good measure became a big hit with Hip Hoppers in the late 90’s. Called Purple Drank, Sizzurp, Purple Jelly and some other names in rap songs through the 00’s, drinkers get a mild euphoric feel – and really mellowed down several notches. Although overuse landed many in the hospital."

Purple Stuff (sold on the soda isle at your local Smith’s) is loosely based on the illegal mixture. It contains no codeine or promethazine, but “Slows Your Roll” with herbal ingredients like valerian root, rose hips and melatonin. It’s advertised as “The Adventurer’s Relaxation Beverage” and it does mellow you out. It’s definitely an anti-energy drink, but it doesn't make you sleepy, just gives you a calm. A couple of jittery and can get highly-agitated guys here at work drink it occasionally. I don't drink much soda, but it does bring that calm as advertised. I'd say it is similar to Chamomile Tea, without the sleepiness.

I was sure drinking the cool aid, from a fire hose. I was dispensing a little of it too.
:coffee:

Understatement! I would have bet that you & 'talhadfoursteals' were selling it from a roadside stand last summer!

Tal is totally full of it most of the time. He doesn't know much, but he is a recruitaholic. He knows recruiting. alumniwsu, from what I remember, you were pretty much on board with everything they were saying. I know I was excited for this years team and I still am. I don't know why everyone is so quick to abandon ship? Its not like three starters graduated from last years team. Its not like over 50% of our offensive ability is gone from last year. You all saw that Golden was good in the exhibition games and thought he would do enough to make up for some of what we lost with Berry. Now we are turning on each other and our team. Pathetic

Yikes...something has to be wrong if purple4life is defending me. Please folk read the posts at the beginning of the thread. I already admitted that I was over zealous. Once again, I'm sorry for being a fan. Hell, I said all summer that I hadn't had the chance to watch a lot of rat ball. I was basing my opinions on what the players had already accomplished. I think I had reason to be excited. Let's face it, we still do! This team will only get better.

If they don't win Saturday...... I'm boycotting this season! We have to beat a team based in Utah besides SUU!

I'm not confident that Rahe gave his best effort this year! Almost feel like we're tanking for 2015! When I go back and read all the crap from over the summer, I want to water board myself in the tub! It's one thing to be a fan! Another to be a homer! I can't beleive that I'm counting on Hajek to save our season!

Nothing is worse than watching the team this season! Even wins feel empty! What's our RPI? 271? There's only 371 D1 teams in the country! We can win the conference and our RPI get worse!

WOW!

I can't believe all of the fair weather fans.

I don't like losing any more than anyone else, but I will still support the Wildcats no matter what their record is. I still believe that they can pull this thing together. I'm still drinking the Purple Stuff.

If everyone wants to pull out when the going gets rough, we will end up no better than some of the wanabees in our conf. :twocents:

I think there's a difference in abandoning the team and asking for a little accountability. Truly don't know what to expect anymore. Will always support the program, but my expectations are higher than they were 5 years ago! I will always stand behind the program, but will continue to ask for improvement and a little transparency!

Sounds like a fair weather fan to me. If you really don't mean it, don't say it. If you want accountability, join one of the clubs and ask the coach yourself. Everyone else has asked him the same questions, so why not you too? :stir:

Because he gives you the same jack wagon answer! If you're comfortable going blind and just going for the ride that's cool and if losing games you should win and not asking why is your definition of a fan..... I'm happy for you!

Before you get your panties in a knot...

I think that scratch is saying; Go ahead and ask the hard questions, call the coaches out on the BS answers, but continue to support the kids and the program. When you say that you are pulling out, it just sounds like you only support in the good times. That does sound like a bandwagon jumper. If that is you, you are in good company. 90% of our community meets that definition.

Personally, I prefer to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. What most don't understand is that there really is no middle ground here. :kisswink:

Coach Rahe answered a couple of difficult questions at the last luncheon. One was bout the kids redshirting and the other about bench play and the line up. He asked that his responses not be put on Twitter or the message board, because he said the players follow twitter and message boards and he wished they wouldn't. So go to the next luncheon and ask the hard questions.

Thanks

Which version is true! What he's told the players or what he's saying at the luncheon? :stir:
I like this thread...... Perfect title!

I'm not down on the program, more down on the hype that started the season. After seeing that we were going smaller to compete with other schools, I thought it was the dumbest thing I ever heard! Didn't understand why we wouldn't use our strengths.glad to see the experiment is over and we put our talent in a position to win!

Frustrated by the post that feel that winning the BSC and making the dance as a horrible seed is the best we will ever do! I wonder if the Gonzaga's, Northern Iowa's and Creighton would've improved their program if they had the same loser attitude. I'd like to see our program have the goal to improve......not want to stay the same!
