No more Bigsky football on Root Sports

I see where Bigsky football games will no longer be broadcast by Root Sports. This is a big loss for Bigsky football. Being a life long resident of the puget sound area I never saw a Bigsky team unless they were playing a Pac10/12 team untill Root started carrying the games. Before Root I never saw a Eastern game on tv, no Montana game, no brawl of the wild. Big blow to recruiting in the puget sound area when high school players don't get any regular exposure to the conference.

ESPN+ is pretty cheap at $10 a month and you can on tv/pc/phone all EWU sports for the most part. I enjoy watching all the other BSC Football games/teams as well.

Not a huge surprise, but for the non cord cutters it is a loss especially for a lot of the rural family's who believe it or not might not have strong enough internet to stream the games. Root should do same type of schedule they did last year with big games like brawl of the mild and a ewu Idaho game...or even the DAMN CUP for locals.
I'm a cord cutter but outlaws are not and can't get games.
Where did you get that Rumor about Root...haven't seen anything myself.

Sorry but money was not my point, I was happy to pay the ESPN+ fee last year to watch EWU football without the frustration of pluto tv!!!!!
My point is the loss of exposure to the casual sports viewers expecially in the puget sound and Portland areas. Yes without Root sports its still possible to catch Eastern game if you have a ESPN+
subscription and search for the game but to the thousands who tune in to Root sports to catch a Mariners, Sounders, Kracken game they are likely to eventually stuble on to a Eastern game of at least an advertisement for Bigsky football where they flash shots of the RED turf of the inferno!

I know in Spokane in addition to Root you could also see games on SWX (no way to stream those over here) but here in the Puget sound area before Root, Bigsky football might as well have been on another planet! With Root sports I could wear a EWU shirt to work and have somebody who I didn't even know their name start talking to me about the Eastern game they say last Saturday. That would never have happened before Root.

I belive the new deal was signed is with a Montana based outfit that owns KPAX and will show primarily Griz/Cat games. Great for Montana fans but as for conference exposure for where it counts, ( recruiting area) it just took a big hit!

The overwhelming majority of live sports is consumed on network television. The differences between broadcast TV and streaming is staggering… the numbers using live TV exceed 80% of the viewership and in some estimates that number is close to 95%. Dropping a TV deal for streaming is a losing proposition for modern sports. In 15 years, maybe it makes sense, but not now.

Eagledawg, wasn't questioning your pt...was just pointing out our seeming last option now to watch EWU games. If not at the game I can only watch now on my pc. Will miss root. Do understand your pt...always have. Also, miss SWX for same reason being able to watch on my TV instead my pc monitor and SWX did get more eyes on BSC sports.

Well crap...think thats a mistake with Root...especially with a second channel but what do I know. Sad I don't get to come over to work games anymore though.

That sucks big time. Root Sports’ production on Big Sky games was top tier, I wonder wth happened. Anybody know which EWU games will be televised and where we can find them? Thanks.

All BigSky games are on ESPN+... Games out of conference and away will be on whatever media that conference uses. The Oregon game will be on Pac12 networks, so no one will be able to see it as an example.
