North Dakota (we can win) thread

Okay, I still hate UND (but not as much as NDSU) from our old NCC days. Lets thump them for our first win of the season. It seems that when our defense gets a great stop our offense goes 3 and out and when we score a TD, the defense gives up a long scoring drive.

It will come together this week against UND.

UNC 23
UND 17

Come on you Bears!!!

I don't know much about UND this year except that they are 4-3 and played Cal Poly tough this weekend. I can't say that gives me much confidence. I think UNC will come in acting cocky after their "moral victory" and get humiliated by the transitioning team.

UND 45
UNC17

There is always a chance _)*_&*(&*^%$% !!!! Maybe slim !! A few observations from MSU game:
--QB & receivers are much improved (but what has happened to tight end)
--front line seems to be missing about 2 guys that that need to be a force to move people to help the running game
--play calling has to be faster. I saw flashes of it being quicker and you could see the difference when we did as Montana did not have time to set or read the play and we moved the ball on them !!
---our front defensive line is getting pushed around too easy
---DB's still playing way to soft
All in all, we were a big improvement and now I believe we have a chance in the rest of our games !! I say we beat Nort Dakota !! Go Bears

Can't say that I know much of anything about the Bears this season other than your record.

Here's the skinny on the Sioux...............

-Very strong running game, and the game plan will probably be to run the ball alot
-Very strong run defense
-Very poor passing game to put it kindly. Depending on what happens this week, could have a QB controversy in Greeley
-Suspect pass defense that is prone to giving up the big play.
-Excellent special teams in pretty much all phases

Anyone that can take away our running game definatetly would have the upper hand against us. If we can establish the run and not turn the ball over we can beat anyone. Put us in a passing situation and we're screwed.

What's the jist of your team this season? Scheme-wise....................

If you have a poor passing game, that goes in UNC's favor because our secondary is horrible. Decent run stopping because we have a rising star at LB.

Our QB is getting better, but has a horrible offensive line. Decent receivers but no running game whatsoever.

With how Lobato's looked the last couple weeks, I say we just abandon the run game and let him throw it 50 times.

Hopefully, from my perspective  , if you guys have a pourous secondary, that may bode well for North Dakota. We have a Trent Dilfer type passing attack, which means we just want to hand off and have our QB hit a pass here and there and not turn the ball over.

Honestly, I'm pretty confident in our run game. We've been able to run it effectively in every game thus far, but you never know...............

If you guys do have a decent pass offense and end up throwing it 50 times, that goes in your favor. We have good athletes in the secondary, but they are young and seem to get burned fairly often.

I have to think North Dakota will be favored in this game, but like I said I know little about your squad other than what it says in the standings. You've obviously played a tougher schedule than us so far, and I took notice of you played against the Bobcats this weekend................I think it will be a good game.

Looking forward to starting up the games with UNC again since we are "designated rivals" and will play every year from here on out. The Bears were the Cat's Ass in the mid-90's when I was in college. I think it is just a matter of time before you guys start making some noise in the Big Sky. History and tradition suggests it. Hopefully North Dakota will be a bit louder though........................ :thumb:

Sounds like our secondary. Sounds EXACTLY like our secondary, actually.

What kind of crowd do you expect this weekend?

North Dakota always used to travel pretty well when we were really good, and their are a ton of alumni in the Denver area, so I think we could bring some fans to the game.

Hopefully it's a good crowd. Don't expect a great one though.

I expect a lot of green. There were always a lot of UND and NDSU fans back in the old NCC games and with UNC down I bet there are quite a few on Saturday.
