• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

I agree with you, youngguns, on the accountability and making excuses points. I just don't see what it is that you want them to do, that they are not already doing. The talk part of it could be better on the coaches part. They could stop with the youth and inexperience excuses. It is getting a bit old lately. Beyond that, they seem to be doing a lot of things to mitigate the damages. I don't see any coach, anywhere in the country, coming out taking full responsibility for the mistakes they made in recruiting or coaching until they have had a chance to evaluate things when the season is over. By then the media is not as eager to ask those questions and the general public doesn't usually hear about it. I suspect that there will be some real sole searching in late March and that people on the inside will hear all about the accountability part. Until then, I fully expect them to do everything within their power to get better as a team. :coffee:

I don't know, Bolomboy has done about what I expected. He's averaging 13.1 ppg compared to 8.7 ppg last year. He's pulling down 10 boards a game vs 11 last year, he's blocking twice as many shots per game as last year. And he's also developed a 3 point shot. I know some of you were expecting him to be a 20 and 10 guy, but he just doesn't have that kind of offensive capability.
So, his rebounding is off a bit, but he is more of an offensive threat away from the basket than he was last year.
Is his defense off this year? That may have something to do with the fact that Tresnak is not down low with him taking up space. And it may also have to do with the fact that our guards have not been able to stop the dribble penetration as well as we did last year, thus requiring Bolomboy to help more and leaving the other team's bigs open. Also, I've seen opposing bigs score a fair amount off of pick and rolls. Bolomboy's fault or the guard who didn't switch properly to close off the passing alley?
The person I was expecting more from this year is Gittens. Some games he has been absent on the offensive end. I expected to see him getting to the rim much more. After the ND game Rahe said he got on Gittens for passing that ball back outside rather than taking it all the way to the rim -- and taking it strong to the rim.
Also, I was hoping that Golden would be much more of a 3-point threat. He has knocked down 7-15 from 3 over the last 3 games. Hopefully that kind of shooting will continue, or get even better.
