North Endzone Project

Awesome facility being finished on the North end of the stadium. Such a cool building. Love the two new boards. Stewart is improving and will be a fun location to watch football.

It really is awesome.

The next big project is the east stands renovation. That should be started within the next few years. That could add some additional seating, but additional seating is not what is needed now. Maybe in the future, when we start selling out.

I think that there are other facilities that are also in the works. WSU is growing in all the right ways and the future looks bright. What we are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg. :coffee:

Here are some pics from the Standard-Examiner:

Man, this will be big for recruiting. Just check out that locker room. Really nice stuff.

There will be a public open house on Sept 6, from 4-6.

For WSU Athletics, something to be thankful for & proud of!! Looks first class! Thank You to all who donated to the project.

The stadium felt much more big time today with the new endzone plaza! I also think it was louder because more noise reflects off the building and stays in the stadium. The new video board is big time as well! Many P5 schools don’t have a screen that awesome. I’m one of those fans that is never satisfied until Weber is an FCS power. The next step is to get some temporary seating for the south endzone and maybe put the band and some fans there. Also, I couldn’t stop looking up at the mountain and thinking how cool a W would look.

Thanks to all of those who made the upgrades a reality! I’m defiantly sleeping a little better knowing we have some big time facilities and a beautiful stadium.

Sleep like a baby tonight because our new facilities are 🔥 compared to what we had. It’s going to really pay off when recruits come to town. Our team deserves this!

The next step definitely needs to be improved concessions facilities...it was almost laughable walking (stumbling) thru grass & sand with electric cords running all over...like you were at a state fair. Get something permanent set up! That's the only unclassy part of the stadium now! :twocents:

Concessions definitely got worse. They removed two permanent concessions stands. One for construction and the other ? The new Wildcat Store is nice to have, but I would prefer a better layout of concessions. Sell the gear from a trailer.

I planned ahead and ate before the game. Good thing cause someone in our party missed almost an entire quarter waiting in line for a slice of pizza.

I agree the game experience was better and also thought the crowd noise was amplified. I rarely eat at the stadium so it doesn't matter to me personally but concessions facilities to match the rest of the stadium improvements would be another great upgrade.

Not really sure what your reply has to do with my comment.

Don't want to nitpick, but with such an awesome big screen with HD quality picture, I hope they can find a way to move the netting. It really diminishes the quality of the picture. Hope they can figure out a way to lower the net and only raise it for kicks. Wasn't it that way before?

They did use netting on the north end zone (facing the new construction)...raised & lowered it at least most of the game...nothing noticed on the south end zone, don't think they've ever used any netting there. :twocents: PS Nickpicking is OK, never mind what oldrunner says about us spoiled brat fans.

By the way, read where the DEC will get new video boards replacing the old "jumbotron" & side scoreboards...oh how we are spoiled in luxury at WEBER STATE!! Thanks!!

There was definitely a net hanging in front on the big south side board. If you didn't notice it it was probably because it wasn't being put up and down. I even talked to a YESCO employee who commented that the net was killing the HD effect. If you thought the screen was good Saturday wait until they remove the net, which I'm assuming they will.

As far as oldrunner goes, I generally ignore his posts. Most are just condescending ramblings.

Olds generally views himself as a prophet.. all knowing, all seeing, and all encompassing. I never read his posts, typically. The south screen was totally messed up. Picture quality sucked. They need to address this like now! Also, the sound levels were deafening. Sound level sucked!

New, retractable netting will be installed on the south end in the near future. Not sure of the exact timeline, though.
