Just an FYI for those thinking about making the drive. It is Parents weekend in Flagstaff. Hotel rooms are very hard to find. I bought my tickets, but the reserved seats are almost sold out.

Really looking forward to this game. Hopefully after the bye week we will bring back a few players who have been dinged up.

NAU's QB Cookus has been out for several weeks. No word on whether he is done for the season. I heard rumors of a broken collarbone, but nothing official other than a "shoulder injury". His backup is a transfer from Washington who has been playing pretty good so far and he has a very good WR as well. I think NAU is still a dangerous team if they show up to play.

NAU is a talented ball club. Offensively they can really move the ball and score. So Weber will need to play lock down D and hold onto the ball offensively. It is going to be a tough game for the Cats.

Sounds unlikely that Cookus returns for the Weber game.

Cookus is still likely out for the foreseeable future.

However, Lumberjacks head coach Jerome Souers said the team received positive news this week about Cookus’ injury and a potential return.

On Wednesday after practice, Souers said the injury is not as bad as once thought. Initially, the feeling around the team was that Cookus could miss the entirety of the season, but the injury has healed faster than expected.

Souers said Cookus missing the season is now unlikely based on the most recent evaluation and Cookus could return to the field at some point this year.

A timetable is currently unknown.
