Northern Arizona @ Portland State Thread

NAU has looked good at times this year. Maybe we can extract some confidence out of our road win at UNC to compete.

Looks like CK will most likely start against NAU.

Canzano is sure helping promote this game with his fundraising deal he has going on tomorrow.

PSU has a larger enrollment than any other institution in the state. It will hand out more degrees than Oregon or Oregon State next spring. It has a solid research budget. And PSU's economic impact to the state is estimated to be $1.1 billion annually.

Stay with me here...

Because tuition on the campus is still affordable by college standards ($5,700 annually for in-state students). And the campus is gorgeous. And based on the statistics that show an astounding number of you have been in a classroom on the campus, it's clear that either you took a class at PSU or someone you know (and love?) did.

Holy cow, aliens took over John Canzano's body and post favorable stuff about PSU!!

Erik Pedersen is back and it looks like McCaffrey is out for a while.

At least we can hit field goals. :-\

Our defense is tough to watch. The Williams/Ford side just gets abused by teams. Notice NAU didn't throw to Shead's side at all. When they did, he read it better than the receiver and rocked that guy into an incompletion. Williams is a frosh, so I can't get on him that hard. Dixon and Jackson were freshman once, and they turned into a couple of pretty good corners as they matured into upperclassmen. Giving up 11 of 16 3rd down conversions won't win you games, and it led to another loss today.

Regarding offense. Much different feel with CK at the helm. The difference in their arms is evident, as well as the different in their ability to run. His stats will look horrible, but the three INTs were not really on him. Maybe that one at the the end of the first half, but that just as well could have been a reception, but the receiver let the defender go up and take it away. Interesting formation with Woods in the backfield and CK at wideout with the direct snap to Woods. Didn't go so well, but I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I guess it was good to see Engstrom get some throws. He seems to be a combo between CK and Hubel. Throws a good ball, can't move like CK, but isn't planted to the ground in the pocket like Hubel.

Well, another loss. Not as embarrassing as the dull, lifeless crap that we saw against Sac State, but another loss regardless.

By the way. How in the hell do you get a face mask called on your punt return team when they are fair catching the ball? That's got to be a first.

Wow, another blowout loss at home. NAU totally manhandled PSU. I gotta say that this program cannot sustain continuous losing. Especially at home. Glanville's home record is simply terrrible. How can PSU expect football fans to come out and watch this crap when UO and OSU are winning and entertaining.

What I got out of the game is the team is not prepared and continues to make mistakes. There is no enthusiasm. They look like they are sleep walking through the game. I feel for the guys because the coaching staff isn't getting them prepared, doesn't have a winning game plan and makes poor game time adjustments. I haven't looked at Big Sky Conference statistics but the Vikings wouldn't grade out very well.

We are winless at home people! (SOU doesn't count.)

This losing is getting tough to take:

I think you hit the nail on the head. Preparedness and game time adjustments.

My take is that this is on the defensive side of the ball. How can we possibly get ourselves prepared and make adjustments on the defensive side of the ball without a dedicated defensive coordinator.

Remember when 23 points would win you a game?
