Northern Colorado Thread

Time to focus on Northern Colorado and Idaho State. On paper we are better than both of these teams but as we have seen in the Big Sky Conference no game is easy and anything can happen. I know that we are a little beat up right now, but I hope everyone will be available for these games and that there is no let up in intensity after the last two games. These games are really pivotal for the program, a great opportunity to establish consistency . It would be great to finish the season winning 4 straight including the Causeway , ending up 7-5, 4-4 in the BSC! That would be quite a turn around over the past two years. I hope that everyone will be out in force for the Northern Colorado game to support the Hornets and to say goodbye to our seniors who have been through so much. Go Hornets!!!!!!!!!!!

This would definitely be nice, especially since before the season started, we were looking at .500 overall.

Definitely possible. Also possible to split or even completely tank. However, I don't belive THAT will happen as both teams completely whomp. UNC was supposed to be improved this year; I have no clue what happened to them.

The key to this game will be how badly did Smith re-injure his ankle at the end of the Davis game. UNC is a much better team, though their record doesn't show it and this has all the makings of a letdown game if we allow it. They are still burned about not only giving up the Hail Mary to us last year at this place, but the Hail Mary in Davis earlier this year.

If Smith plays and doesn't get hurt, I think we will win. If not, its been a crap shoot with White this year.....

Recipe for let-down. Let's see if Sperbeck and the coaches can keep everyone focused and hungry.

I watched the UNC/EWU game, UNC is better than their record.

This game will tell us a lot about how much we have improved. If we can be consistent and grab these two winable games it will be a major statement. Northern Colorado has a good QB, Davis beat them on the last play, and they stayed close to some good teams this year. They are far better than their 1-8 record, and after losing to us on the last play in Greeley last year I am sure they would love to knock us off.

Maybe Sperbeck should try Mack Brown's tact at Texas the week after they beat Oklahoma. They took a game ball from that game, had a funeral and buried it at the beginning of the first practice to get his squad ready to play Missouri the next Saturday. I thought that was a classic move by a coach.

After beating Eastern Washington and UCD at their stadiums, we should romp in our last home game. Its good its senior day as they won't want to lose their last home game of their career. I think we will slobberknock the life out of No. Colorado.

Good point HHD, it's senior day, thats motivation.

My prediction for this week:

Sac - 35
UNC - 14

UNC's rushing average is only 100yds/game, and passing is 174/game - not very impressive. but we all know that on any given saturday any one team can beat another...

but i think the seniors last home game will get the team fired up, plus getting above .500 is a great motivator as well for next years team.

GO HORNETS!

(p.s. go poly go poly go poly! i just want to get on the AST board tomorrow and RAIL on the aggies for getting beaten 2 weeks in a row by STATE teams!)

14-10....we had better get our stuff together guys, too many mental mistakes are giving these guys a chance to compete!!

come on hornets!

Whew...when that game got to 24-19, it was a little scary, but then the Hornets did something we haven't seen in so many years. They got focused, started pounding the ball, got physical and finished a game. Credit the team with learning how to win this year. Sperbeck and his staff have done a great job with this team. Congratulations to the Hornet seniors for beating UCD and their final home game. Now finish a wonderful season with a win over Idaho State. This is the biggest game of the year because to lose it would tarnish the accomplishments of what has been done this year. So don't think we can mail this one in. Show up and finish off the Bengals and cap the turnaround season for the Sacramento State Hornets!
