I have my tickets for the game against UNI. Is anyone else making the trip out to Iowa? I am hoping to have some Eagle fans to hang with before and after the game.

My folks, my hubby, my brother, my in-laws.... Hubby is from Iowa so we've got quite a few of his friends & family that we will force into eagle gear ... Hoping to have an impressive eagle fan base in attendance.

What a ride it's been!
We're actually flying into Minneapolis. A little farther but a whole lot cheaper on the airfare.
 
My folks live halfway between Minneapolis and Cedar Falls. Cedar Rapids is the closer airport {an hour and change} to the game, but limited flights from most places. Des Moines is about 2 hours, Minneapolis is just over 3 hours.
I know from my friends in the area that this is a hyped-up game for the Panthers, as they play Iowa State, us, Cal Poly, Illinois State, and NDSU as their first 5 games; with our game being their only home game in that stretch.
At least they got rid of the flat turf in 2009-2010(?) and have a field turf surface.

If I remeber right, Waterloo is less than half an hour and the closest airport. Minneapolis is the closest major airport.
 
The 'Loo airport is less then 15 minutes from the dome but I think only American flies in, and only from Chicago twice a day. While farther away, MSP, DSM, & CID might be better options.
 
I'm not sure what airports to fly into. I live in Lincoln,NE so its only a 5 hour drive for the game. It looks like there will be Eagle fans so we will be loud as possible. Go Eags!!!
 
I've been waiting for this game to happen for a while. The 2 or 3 other times that we have played UNI have been in the playoffs, all in the UNI Dome, all losses. For whatever reason EWU teams just don't seem to play well in domes traditionally. I hope we buck that trend this year, since this will pretty much be a "must win" game for us.
 
It may also be a must win for UNI! They play at Iowa State then us at home then at Cal Poly then at Ill. State then at North Dakota State....ouch!

IIRC, the State of Iowa (like Arizona) requires one of the FBS schools to play UNI every year. It keeps the money in-state. So they don't have a choice with three of the 5 games. Not sure how far in advance the conference schedule is made but that's as tough a gamut as Poly's.

Dozy,
Missed that big blonde hair DL this year, he was a very great individual Player. Will never forget when he came here as a Freshman, and the team threw him into the Shower, and supplied the haircut to him. Give him our best. Sept 9th will be my 1st BD. Did he get the job in Arizona? We will not be doing any more travelling with the teams. Take care. Vic Wallace
