Yes...

Thats it?

I'll be at the gym everyday at 5 if you have something to discuss with me. I'm not going to apologize for expecting your best. To bad you'd rather be medicore. Its rather disappointing.

Oh...I'm only one member on this forum. There are still 602 other members.

Seriously? This is for real the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Why doesnt someone who has a problem get out of their seat, walk up to where joe is and talk to him. Or better yet, jerry bovee is at every game usually in section H or somewhere behind the scorers table ( I see him all when I am going to my seat) and you can go up and discuss your concerns with him or set up a meeting. Or second floor in stew stadium, just walk right up. B*tching to everyone on the forum doesnt do anything... if you have over 600 ppl who agree with you get them to sign a petition and take it in when you have a meeting with him.

I personally like the intro song and all that has been done with the videos and when joker is played at the right time it does well. It served its purpose as an intro song and I think it does more for the atmosphere when played at precise moments when needed.

Good lord this is getting out of hand :ohno:

I usually like your posts playerz, but you're absolutely Clueless on this subject.

The intro song SUCKS horse Dick!

I understand that people on here dont like it. That is a valid But until atleast half of the 7000 ppl we average dont stand and clap then I dont see how it sucks or see why they would change it. The song does what it is supposed to do. Even if all 600 forum members dont stand for the song there is still 90% of the place that is standing. That is pretty damn good (obviously this isnt accurate but you get what I mean). And I dont know why ppl keep saying that this is messing with the attendance and the loyal fan base. This season we just went over 100,000 fans and have the highest average attendance in years...
At most we would have 2 games left at home this year (if we host which we better!!!) which we would only hear that intro song two more time. So for next season, what other songs would be good to use for intro? I personally like enter sandman or welcome to the jungle.

joker.

Ballplayerz i know i have and a few others have gone to talk to joe about it at games and its like trying to explain to a elephant how to use a laptop computer. you get no where and fast with him. he is stubborn and hard headed and only wants things done his way. the other issue we run into is each time out and when songs are played is all controlled by him and the sponsors for that game

First...I do agree, this is becoming rather idiotic. However, my only reason for posting on this thread is to point out the fact that FANs like it. If FANs like something, why wouldn't you do it? Anyway, that is something Weber's administration has to figure out.

Next, yes, I have talked with Bovee about this. He always says the same thing each time, very political, "I'll see what I can do." In his defense, he has far more important things to worry about than what songs are played during a game. What is sad, is that Joe doesn't care. WSU doesn't have the most fans on earth, and their is a lot of potential for growth. Why wouldn't you listen to and try to cater to what your fans want? I don't get it.

Nonetheless, lets all face it. We, the fans on this board, will still donated and participate in WSU events. Yet, it is extremely frustrating having WSU employees argue with their fans. It is comical that you and your buddy who should be focusing on increasing overall attendance at women's event are arguing with actual Weber State fans on a fans forum. I've gone to one WBBALL game this year, and the crowd was embarrassing. Granted, that is mostly dependent on Ws and Ls; yet...there are always things that can be done. Two Alumni spent 5 hours last friday, on their days off, to get folks to the game on saturday. I don't know how much good it did, but know now, if given the same resources what I would do differently to get fans. I would keep trying and working hard. Learning from past experiences and try again. But instead of doing your job you are arguing with the very people you should be talking with. I'm sorry you have to work with women's athletics, but like all careers, you have to start somewhere. Why not do your best with what you have and where you are. I have nothing against either of you. You know where to find me if you want to talk.

Like I have said before, I don't mind Joe as a person, and I understand why he gets defensive. Who likes being attacked at their job for doing their job?

Anyway, GO CATS!!

Some people say about America, because I Love It, I want to change it.

People stand no matter at the start of the game. It is tradition to clap till Weber scores a bucket. Haven't you noticed that everyone sits down after we score our first point/s? If you haven't noticed, without music, the crowd stands at the start of the 2nd half too.

Why not try talking to Joe on a day when there is not a game? I'm sure if you tried to talk to him before a game he was quite busy. From actually talking with people not on a game day I learned that Joe does do a lot of other things besides just music on game days. I tried to talk to him as well before a game and got brushed off. If you try to talk to them on days they don't have games and actually schedule meetings, they'll talk to you. They will even be nice and listen. I know its an amazing idea but it actually works.

I'm going to be honest with everyone here on the forum. I think I have some great ideas for music and the games. I would love to meet with this music guy Joe and talk things over with him. Everyone I've talked with in the Athletic Department says he's very willing to listen to anyone's ideas. You just have to go and talk with him. I will even schedule the meeting. THOSE WHO ARE COMPLAINING JUST HAVE TO GROW A PAIR AND SHOW UP. I'm not doing this because I think Joker is a great song because I don't think it is. I actually think its overrated. BUT, people here feel strongly about it so we should bring it up to Joe.

Please let me know when it would be best to try and set this meeting up so I can contact those in charge. Also, does anyone have the contact information? I have some direct digits but maybe emails would be better to start.

His name is Joe Strand: His contact information is on the web:
http://portalapps.weber.edu/lfsindex/public.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Click on S and then you will find his name listed next to his e-mail address and phone number.

Admin: I think you can lock this thread, I started it and think it has more than served whatever purpose.

Just shows the passion many fans have for Wildcat basketball
