Number 2 seed!

There really was no question who would get the higher seed, IMO. I wasn't sure we would get the #2, but very confident we would be places higher than MSU.

Eastern certainly got a nice road. Colgate / Wagner winner is not a major challenge on paper. Appalachian State looks to be in a down year. You'd have to feel pretty comfortable about the first two games.

Dopa, you've always said you've wanted to see a NEC/Patriot team come out to Cheney. Well here we go! :thumb:

Really good draw, better than NDSU's I think. Tune up against either Wagner or Tooth-paste and then get ready for some payback against App State for 2007. :thumb:

Bi-son fans are in full-on bitchfest mode over it. It's quite entertaining.

EWU will get bounced their first playoff game

Comment From moderate me again
anti ndsu all around, hilarious the hate and jealousy towards NDSU's success. this is D2 stuff and should not be tolerated. TIME FOR FBS NOW.
I wonder who "moderate me again" is...   :dunce:

I wouldn't be surprised if they lost their first game against SDSU. At all.

How upset would you be if you were an NAU guy? It's been a long time since an 8-3 team didn't make the playoffs from the Big Sky, especially with an FBS win under their belt. And it hasn't happened once since the expansion of the playoffs. Just goes to show that the "seven wins and we're in" mentality is fatally flawed.

James Madison finished 8-3 and just laid a complete ass-whipping on New Hampshire and missed as well.

Still, hard to say the committee got anything wrong. I'm a little confused by Georgia Southern getting seeded, but it's not really hurtful to us, so whatever.

It looks like the committee really favored teams that played multiple FBS games and/or won one of them. Stony Brook gets an at-large out of the Big South after playing Syracuse tough and beating Army while Lehigh gets left out. Wofford gets an at-large after hanging with USC for three and a half quarters yesterday. SHSU gets an at-large with 7 DI wins but two losses to FBS losses to Baylor and Texas A&M.

I think our seed is another reflection of this, although quality wins and the strength of the conference also helped the resume out. I'm surprised by it and my ECB radar was on full alert, but the one word that came to mind when I saw we were the 2 seed was "justice".

I agree. Just curious if anyone knows what our strength of schedule ended up being after the game yesterday. I think it was worse than MSU before they played Montana so I am curious how that all ended up.

According to Sagarin, which had Montana State at 81 and Eastern at 85, Eastern had the stronger schedule. Eastern had a 55.83 schedule rating versus Montana State's 53.43. The higher number is better in this measurement. I have absolutely no idea how big of a spread is represented by 2 1/2 points, could be considered a lot, could be considered very slight.
