Why wouldn't they be in full bitch mode . . . .they are going to have to sell all their tickets for the championship game that they bought! BLLLAAAAHHHH

I wouldn't be surprised if they lost their first game against SDSU. At all.
Me neither, they played NDSU to a 3 point game in the famed Fargo dome.

Dopa, has your opinion of this year's schedule changed?
Only problem with this years schedule was if we didn't win at idaho and n ariz beat poly yesterday we may have been on the outside looking in. We wont play idaho as an fbs game every year (see next year) and it could hurt us when we play better teams. As for this year, lets enjoy the ride!!!

This. We need to make a run this year because making the playoffs as a seed probably ain't gunna happen with the schedule we have next season unless we get some sort of crazy upset against one of our FBS opponenents, which isn't likely. Even our FCS schedule is just brutal.

Great, I'm foreseeing another injury heavy start to our season next year.

I am truely worried about the MSU fans. There is some serious heart stress going on. They are talking real scared. I don't think they liked the seeding. Read it and see what you think?

These so call "weaker" teams will probably surprise some teams this year. SB darn near beat SHSU last year in the second round. Personally I'm glad we drew a strong team from a good conference just to make absolutely sure we have the best possible preparation. If we are in fact a contender this year we need to beat quality teams like Villanova. I actually liked it when the ESPNU duffus picked us as the only top 4 team not to make the final 4. This team seems to play well with a chip on their shoulder. I also think this team would be glad to welcome SHSU to Bozeman for a bit of revenge in the frozen north. Then they would be more than happy to welcome Appy to Bozeman and see how those guys can handle the cold.

And yes, I've already counted out EWU. They have been playing like total crap lately and it is just a matter of time before they go packing. For us a 2 seed was identical to a 3 seed with EWU as the 2.

Re: Playoff Seeding

Been looking into our match ups a little, both SB and Nova are running teams, both seem to have weak passing and good (not great) defenses.
I think we will be OK with either, SB looks to be the favorite in my mind and they play at home. I think our defense can handle these run teams and our offense will find ways to score on about anybody.

The CP SHSU game will be interesting, I am not currently impressed with CP but they may do some damage. I think that our DC is learning how to stop run option teams and feel that seeing SHSU in Bozeman would leave the Kats going home sad, we are a much better team this year than last year.

It wont be easy, but I think the outlook is good.

And I agree, EWU getting by their second game will be a miracle with as crappy as they are playing now.

EWU sucks and they have played like it all year they are over rated and not only will they get bounced in the playoffs, their fans deserve it.

Man I am pumped with that schedule especially if Kaufman comes back! I am not sure why you look at Montana as a possible loss they are going to be on probation and have more issues to deal with. The Oregon State game will be interesting as who knows what to expect in the first game of the season but maybe just maybe we come out in some type of wildcat or something where we can use both Qb's at the same time.

Personally bring it on like Donkey Kong!!!

No. We are a bit lucky Idaho was terrible. That won't be the case with Toledo next year.

I don't like any schedule where we might pile up losses by trying to take the money instead of working through the problems. If you get two losses on your schedule, you start getting into a situation where your playoff life depends on winning an auto-bid. That's just way too big of a gamble IMO.

But, obviously, it worked out this year. What sort of intrigues me is that Montana State was rated to *almost* have as tough a schedule as ours. I simply don't understand how Sagarin came to that conclusion. They didn't play Cal Poly, NAU, and played a DII and Drake (basically a glorified DII).

The real issue is next year's schedule. I don't understand it at all. We play a powerhouse FCS team on the road... a good game, but that should sort of be our "feature" OOC game. I can also understand taking an Oregon State game for money and local notoriety. But that Toledo game is just adding a difficult game for no benefit. Makes no sense at all.

We really need to be at least 2-2 in those first four to have any shot at the playoffs. Really, we ought to be thinking about starting 3-1, and that's going to take beating Sam Houston State on the road as well as posting a big FBS upset against 2 teams that will either be in the top 25 or well up the "receiving votes" category. If we go 1-3, with a win over a DII, then we're basically in a situation where we have to run the table to get a playoff bid.

Congrats on the 2 seed. I would love to see a rematch....but it's going to be tough as hell for us to get there (Stony Brook/Nova and then SHSU/CPSLO if we can get that far).

Best of luck to the Big Sky and hopefully we'll see you in Cheney for the semis! :thumb:

Looking at next years schedule and seeing more specifically what the comittee is looking at I am glad we have the games we have. Especially with that D2 game on the schedule. It balances things out more.
