OFFENSIVE LINE---A++++

The Strength of any good football team is the Line! Especially the OFFENSIVE LINE.

Brent Myers the Offensive Line Coach at WSU needs a major shout out for the development of the offensive line during this past season. The progress that has been made by the offensive line week after week has been the most best coaching job that I have seen in a long time.

Though they may be some of the biggest they are not the most athletic bunch of linemen. Coach Myers has been able to mold and develop an offensive line that has been able to progress each and every week and add more sophistication and line scheme's that I could of never expected from this group during Spring ball and the first three games.

The running game is blowing major holes through the defenses and having major surges on the line of scrimmage. The pass protection has been nothing short of outstanding. The QB is seldom sacked even though Clarke takes way to long to make his reads and the amount of 4 and 5 count pass protection has been consistent throughout the season. Pass protection is never the problem even against schools like OSU. Wish we could of seen the type of progress out of WSU's offensive skill position players which seems to have deteroated as the season progress. Don't know how many of the lineman are back next year but they have played outstanding.

Give Coach Myers a major pay pump and make sure they keep him on the Coaching Staff and don't lose him. FYI nice job by the strength coach this year by Henderson keeping the hogs strong and healthy!

MY OPINION, as far as the Wildcat football coaching staff, ALL except OC Clark :thumb: This football coaching staff's weak link is Steve Clark, OC. :-( (Contrary views ?)

He may or may not be the weakest link. That isn't the real question, in my opinion. I would ask, are there better OCs available for WSU to hire? What are the chances we could get and keep one? Did our O improve as the season went on? Do we have the personnel to execute our O? Are we getting what we need out of the players we have? Are the players we need available for us to recruit? Are any changes warranted? If change is warranted, what changes do you make?

All of those questions would be addressed at the end of the season. For now, you just play with what you have and do everything in your power to win that last game.

The offensive line has definitely been the best part of our offense. Losing Big Joe is a major loss, but I assume Baron Bruce will take over as the starting center next year. AJ Wilcox has been out this year, and I'm sure he will get a medical red shirt and be available next year. Last year, he was our top tackle. He should have two years to play. He could take the spot vacated by Oliverson's graduation. That means we will need someone to take the guard spot that will be open once Bruce moves over to center. I'm guessing either Connor Shannon or Tyrone Brown. There are a lot of good lineman on our squad and I'm sure we will get a few more back from missions and during the recruiting period. Whoever takes over, I'm not too worried. As long as Hill is able to keep Brent on staff. He is a really good coach.

My opinion, Weber would have 2-3 more wins right now and a red-zone offense that wasn't anemic if they had a capable OC. I have noticed the backs missing nice holes, especially the past several weeks.

Off-season wish list:
1) New and improved OC.
2) JClark improve read time and throw accuracy.
3) More capable receivers, particularly Stribling, or a can of stick 'em. See item 1. for more creative routes.
4) Backs improved vision and cuts to holes.
5) Plenty of rest for the defense.

Will RB Zach Smith get a medical redshirt? Will he be back next year?
Zach hasn't played a year, so there's no need for a medical hardship. You do a medical hardship when you trigger a season of competition and then seek to get it back because of the injury. Zach will have two years in his five-year eligibility period when next season arrives.

What about AJ Wilcox?
