To those that are going to the PSU/UNM game...

Where are you staying? I'm looking to book accommodations for one night. It'd be great to be on/near campus so that we can just take a cab from the airport to campus and from campus to the airport....

The Airport University Inn is just a few blocks from the stadium, and a very short cab ride from the airport. It's also where the UNM FB team stays during two-a-days & home games. It's very nice!

I'm booked.

My wife and I are arriving early and staying in Taos for a coupla nights. We would like to hook-up with other fans on Saturday, except that we are buying tickets directly from UNM in hopes of getting a better view of the game.

We're flying in on Saturday before the game....

Hoping that there will be a PSU pre-funk somewhere prior to the game.

I trying to be realistic here but I think . . .

PSU 38
UNM 31

1st 2nd 3rd 4th
PSU 14 3 14 7

UNM 7 7 3 14

Yeah Baby!!

I expect a win for the Vikings. Low scoring because of our defense and kicking game. Probably Vikings 24, Lobod 10.

I definitely think our Defense will be key to this game to keep us in the running for a W but I do think with the size and talent that UNM does pozes they will have some big break out plays that can and will put some points on the Board. I'm figuring for them to have a tough time matching up to our versitile offense with a highly explosive passing core with a running core to match and the offense line will be clearing a path like bulldozers through the amazon!!

I'm really looking forward to seeing what our Defensive line coach is going to do with the depth that we have. I'm really hopping to see a revolving defensive front that is going to be on the attach all the time by blitzing and stunting then sending in a new crew no more then every 8 plays!!

What do you think that the keys to the game will be?

Preparation: UNM stunts and blitzes on the three man defensive front that they run. The O line must be prepped to know what UNM is doing. We have the talent and the depth to own the offensive front. There is no reason why we should not have at least 100 yards on the ground for this game. If we can get UNM to put more than six in the box, we can really open up the passing game.

Defensive pressure: Kole McKamey is a third year starter. He's not just going to see some pressure on a play or two and toss it over to us. We'll need have constant pressure coming in to keep him out of a groove and promote turnovers. With the depth we have on the D line, we'll need to keep the guys coming in and out to keep them fresh.

Big Plays: As always, big plays can kill the road team, especially when it's a D1-AA team going in to play a D1-A team. Letting receivers behind the secondary, or letting one go for six the other way will kill us. We'll need to get the crowd out of it early, and keep them out of it.

I agree with all your points, another one to add is that they are a D-IA school............the coaches fans SOME players may not look over us, but you know that some of those NM athlete's think this is a throw away game, always an advantage our way
