Looks like January 13th is shaping up to be an important visit weekend.

Rubalcaba, Singleton and also Billy Rolle are visiting at same time. There are probably others, those are just the ones who I discovered were visited per bios.

Bill Rolle, Safety, Ht:5'10" Wt:200 lbs
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Billy-Rolle-123594
visiting UNC on Jan. 13th,

then visiting Florida A&M on January 27th.

If we can get Billy Rolle, that would be amazing. He has offers from 2 BCS teams, Cinncy and Wake Forest. I'm just glad he is still visiting us.

since it looks like we have a big push on for january 13-15, I'd assume they may take the football recruits to see the men's basketball team play at home, Sat. Jan. 14 vs. Eastern Washington.

Should try to have a good crowd and atmosphere for that game to impress the visitors.

just saw this one on Scout:

Castle View offensive lineman Nate Shepherd reports Coach Collins of Northern Colorado will make a home visit this week followed by Shepherd taking his official to UNC on the 27th.

From the Orange County (CA) Register's Prep Blog:

In other Orange Lutheran recruiting news, two-way lineman Elisha Davis and cornerback Willie Fletcher will each make a recruiting trip this weekend to Northern Colorado, another Big Sky Conference school.

From the Denver Post, Jan. 18th:

Cherry Creek’s Christian Rebhun took an official visit to Northern Colorado last weekend. He’ll take a trip to New Mexico this weekend. Rebhun, 6-5, 230, made all-league at both positions last season. UNC has offered, and a New Mexico offer may be coming.

Rebhun was earlier named to the all-league team at linebacker.

Found a cryptic visit reference to UNC recruit-of-interest, James Dowgin of Greeley West.

Jan. 19 Hoops Update:
Maldonado led the Spartans with a team-high 16 points. They also received 12 from Austin Miller, but were without James Dowgin, who is on a football recruiting trip.

... so Dowgin might have been on an official with the Bears, :thumb: or might have been somewhere else.
Dowgin was named Defensive Player of the Year / 4A All conference for bocopreps.
http://www.bocopreps.com/ci_19631445

Here's a writeup by ESPN HSCO from September.
http://espn.go.com/blog/high-school/colorado/index/_/count/46
Blue Chip: James Dowgin, Greeley West, DB
Greeley West is off to a great 3-1 start this season and Dowgin's outstanding play on offense, defense and special teams has been a big reason why. He's played receiver and scored a touchdown in every game so far this year (and has three 100+ games). On defense he's among team leaders in tackles. And he's also returned punts and kicks for the Spartans. Look for Dowgin to continue to have a big impact on the team this season.

Trivia that matters:
Billy Rolle's father is William "Billy" Rolle, Jr., is a former defensive back for the FAMU Rattlers, drafted by Tampa Bay Bucs and member of FAMU Sports Hall of Fame. (Young Billy Rolle's grandmother was FAMU Hall of Famer Women's Basketball great Frankie Shannon Rolle.) William "Billy" Rolle, Jr was the head football coach of top-ranked high school football team in the United States, the Miami Northwestern Senior High School Bulls, but he left (resigned or was fired, depending on who you read) as coach November 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in education at FAMU in 1984. -- That's where the younger Billy Rolle is visiting this last OV weekend.

Whether or not dad ends up coaching at FAMU, his alma mater ... Just saying ...
Billy is now showing an offer from FAMU in addition to the other BCS schools after him, and

This would be a huge get for UNC, but hard to beat those double legacy factors ...

Other outstanding members of the athletic Rolle famiy include distant cousins Myron Rolle, a defensive back from New Jersey who was rated the No. 1 recruit in the nation by ESPN in 2006 (went to Florida State) and Brian Rolle, played for Ohio State, Samari Rolle played for the NFL Ravens, Antrel Rolle played for Arizona ... the list goes on.

Greeley, CO is a long way from Florida but I would much rather go through Summer football in Greeley than in the tropical heat of Florida.

Unconfirmed, but rumor is that we have Greeley West standout James Dowgin visting this weekend.

Very good player and would be a great asset to the Bears.
