officiating

Do we know where the officials crew will be from? I've seen it in the past the officials seem to be intimidated by a crowd size they have not worked under before.

aw the fix is in..................you can bet no matter where the officials are from they will blow a few calls. perhaps the crowd noise will has as much effect on the refs as on EB....as someone said the 24000 geriatric fans will need a wake up call by halftime so noise should not be an issue for those refs and should hardly be intimidated by a bunch of old geezers.

There were some missed calls, but they’re letting them play.

Letting the clock run down at the half with :02 on the clock after the incomplete pass was egregious though.

OVC officials. And they were universally awful. I don't think either team was hurt by it because they were terrible both ways, but I know anyone watching the game sure was.

They missed a lot of calls both ways, sure. But the two targeting no-calls were egregious and completely killed our momentum.

They were, and I have no idea what they were looking at because they were both plain as day. The TV cameras must have had different angles because there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that both were targeting. They probably weren't the difference in the game but wow, I don't know how you mess those up. The other big one they missed, amongst others, was #58 wrenching on Barriere's ankle after a tackle towards the end of the half. It's why he took his helmet off and followed him going to the tunnel. The guy should have been ejected from the game it was that blatant.

The cameras absolutely had better as well as more angles than you and were able to confirm that there was no targeting.

The officiating was bad both ways, it wasn’t one sided…while the Griz got away with some calls so did we. We couldn’t block and got away with a ton of holds, also limu Jones did fumble but they couldn’t review due to forward progress being blown dead. It was bad both ways…

Plenty of PI no calls

I went back and looked at that on the replay. Embarrassing. A cheap act for sure. ’d have done more than just take my helmet off.

That kind of cowardly, dirty play is what I would expect from a team coached by Hauck.

The officiating was bad on both sides. The many missed obvious holding calls by the Eagles O-line. The roughing the kicker call when the Griz player was pushed into the kicker by the Eagles player. The so called targeting calls on just good hard hits, etc.
And our Griz got lucky on several pass interference no-calls and our O-line also got away with some holding calls.
I guess there is no such thing as holding in the Ohio Valley Conference.

It's too bad the officiating kept the Griz from winning the game...... Hold on, Montana did win. Why the hell are they over here discussing the state of officiating at a game they won? Worst bunch of sore winners I've ever seen. I mean this most sincerely, GFY..

Honestly, I thought the Maine people were a bunch of complete blowhard tards but the Griz take the cake. Shit even the NDSU faithful as smug as they are (deservedly so) aren't this insufferable. Griz win again!

The targeting call on Limu-Jones seemed like a no-brainer. Even the announcers on ESPN said it was as clear cut as targeting gets.

However, with that said, I'd be fine doing away with targeting. It is so monumentally subjective and refs have no ability to interpret something so subjective. The rule needs to go.

I agree the targeting rule detracts from the viewing experience and I don't feel the players are more protected than without it.
